Hi guys, I would like to compile a list of problems which are associated with detailing. Hope you guys can add-on based on the difficulties you face.



1. Body dents

2. Bird droppings

3. Tree saps

4. Water spots

5. Wiper scratches

6. Stone chips

7. Paint oxidation

8. Swirls/Scratches

9. Mud stains/etchings

10. Hale storm

11. Road salt

12. Headlamp lens oxidation/condensation (inside)

13. Shoe scuffs

14. Finger nail scratches around door handle

15. Insects trapped inside lamp

16. Brake dust

17. Paint overspray

18. Wheel lip scratches

19. Tire browning

20. Road tar

21. Industrial fallouts

Stuff that's not "detail" fixable but sometimes expected to be:

Clearcoat failure

Cracked paint.
 
In addition to those already listed: Odor elimination, especially mildew, vomit or cigarette smoke. On occasion, correcting messed up DIY paint repairs.
