Pressure Washer/Foam Lance Question

I've used a foam gun for the past year as a pre-wash before washing with 2 bucket method. It was fun for a while but now I need a foam lance. :)

I own only a 2700 psi gas pressure washer. Am I setting myself up for disaster by using that unit? Karcher seems to have a lance rated up to 3000 psi but is that too much pressure for a car?

I could pick up an electric pw but with all the detailing "stuff" I've bought over the last two years, that would mean kicking the wife's car out of the garage and to the driveway. Hello favorite couch...

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Best,
Tom

Too much? probably not. Should you be careful with that much pressure around softer stuff (rubber trim/plastic etc.) probably. Just don't get too close if youre worried. I have a 1800 PSI karcher and its more than enough pressure for what I need to get a car clean

As said, you can wash a car with a pw with less power. You can adjust the the pressure on some but ultimately it is the spray pattern (fan spray and not the jet) and distance are the key factors in using higher pressures.
