Prep for OC2.0 w/several rock chips in bumper

I can post a good picture later when it gets nice outside, but the previous owner of my MDX had installed probably 2 dozen rock chips in the front bumper cover (with a few on the front of the hood). Anyone have a good place to order some paint chip repair kit/paint/how-to techniques? There are numerous that I would like to fill in and would rather not have the bumper repainted. Thanks in advance!

If it matters, its on a Nimbus Grey Metallic 2007 Acura MDX. I'm wanting to prep the surface for some OC2.0.

Unless you're going to refinish the entire front end to make it "perfect", I'd just do a standard touch up process. Clean the chip with alcohol (providing it's not down to primer), apply 1 thin coat with a very fine pointed brush and then reapply another thin coat 30 minutes later. You can try spot sanding and buffing to improve the look (minimally) or just proceed to the OC.

Well, from my discussions with Dr. G, he clearly mentions that OC will prevent the air from contaminating beneath the coated surface. He also mentioned that this product works wonders on Gel-Coat and single stage finishes as it acts like a clear coat and locks the finish in. A true sacrifial barrier so to speak. I see it doing the same thing for this application too. I'd still clean the surface, touch it up and coat it. You want to make sure the chipped area is free from oils that could prevent th coating from bonding.

I'd love to see someone take a piece of bare sheetmetal and coat 1/2 of it to prove this therory.

Yeah, the OC is the reason I'm gonna finally get off my butt and touch up the rock chips in that bumper to properly prep it (and so I don't have to worry about my amateur touch up job getting trashed). I have yet to see any signs of rust on any of the rock chips as of yet, but still plan on doing the whole Dawn, clay, 105/205 (or UNO when it gets here) w/IPA, Dawn, then OC2.0 the whole truckin' thing. I'm hoping I get the same results as someone else had recorded that OC would darken the color of darker vehicles (mine being grey, but I want a deeper gunmetal).

Anywho, does anybody know a good place to order a kit/pen/whatever for touch-up paint? Its factory paint on the vehicle.

Not so sure about the darkening effect, but I wouldn't worry 1 bit about rust on the bumper(platic). You did say there's a few chips on the hood, but unless they're very deep(to bare metal) would I be concerned about anything more than touching them up. I'd either have a local body shop mix you up some paint, go to a local paint/body shop supplier or go to the dealer and get a touch up bottle. I would avoid doing any clearcoating touch up.

Yeah I was concerned with the hood for potential rust. I was going go clean up the spots well and use a day for touch up, then use the OC as my 'clear coat', although I think that most automotive touch up paints have some form of a clear coat mixed in with them for simple one step fixes.
