PPS sheeting action after 13 months. Pictures and videos inside

This car was polished with Menzerna PO85RD and sealed with PPS when it was almost brand new. Today I was going to give it some TLC after 13months and over 17000km. Car is used every day and sits outside, sometimes in an carport. Btw we live 100km south of the artic circle with very harsh winters and loots of road salt and some other nasty stuffs. Degreasers and tar removers are used during the winters.

I gave it first a hit with Autosmarts tar remove and later a hit with an alkalie degreaser 1:40. The two buckets with Allrbrites cherry foam schampo. Dried with waffle weave. I couldn´t believe my eyes but the sheeting action was amazing. So I dried the hood and did some testings. The picture is after a 5gallon bucket filled with water was thrown over the hood. From picture 1 to 8 it took about 10 seconds.

I think PPS stands for Polarized paint sealant? I think this is one of the most bashed products here at Autopia :chuckle: but this sealant destroys all the other sealants I have used. No one is even close, well one, R-2000.

Home is the same as 5 star shine. Does it last 5 years? No way does it last 12 months? With out a questions. I would say with this sheeting and the slickness of the paint I would say easy 18 months, maybee 24. This is a killer thats for sure.

Expensive? Yes but I can do three cars with one kit and I charge well for it...

New paint will bead/sheet for a good year even without protection.

Of course thats why we all polish and seals our cars. No car will sheet water after over 30000km.

Seriously I have never seen a new car sheet over one year. I worked at a detailing station who did new cars for a volkswagen and Audi dealer. The cars was brand new and no beading or sheeting after the wash.

Maybee the cars in US have different kinds of paints? ;)

I dont think we necessarily bash 5Star, but the claim is whats rediculous.....Just like Xzilon, pretty decent stuff, but it doesnt last 5 years either.

Polymer Paint sealant maybe?

Yeah I agree that the marketing hype is stupid. But I have been using PPS for over two years and no sealant is even close to this durability.

Very impressive Marcus. I'll try it maybe next week. Nowadays my car is wearing Glasur and I'm happy, but I don't know what to put on my girlfriend's car and on my brothers car, they get very contaminated even with Klasse, Zaino, etc... they need PROTECTION.

Here my broher's car just 1 month ago:

I detailed it and today I was washing it and my god, it is very contaminated and I couldn't see any beading, sheeting, etc...

Thanks for this amazing post my friend ;)

I've done a lot of GM SUVs that are 6-12 months old and have never had anything on the paint and they will bead just fine. Could be that we have very little industrial fallout here, or that GM SUVs are made right here in Arlington and not shipped by rail to DFW area customers. :nixweiss

I don´t know but many of these cars comes by train and got fallouts, brake dust and etc. So we acid washed all the cars. No beading what so ever. The favts that we are living about 100km south of the artic circle and have a very hars climate can have something to do with it.

Then I suggest you continue its use. How expensive, is expensive?

I will when the customers want extra protection. Around $20/car for the sealant.
