PPF installer put razor scratch on my paint. Fixeable or not?

I recently removed the ppf that was on my roof only to find this lovely surprise on the edge of the roof spanning the entire passenger side of the car.

It scares me a bit to hit it with a polisher or wet sand as it’s on the edge but maybe I’m missing something and this can be minimized ?

It’s a 2k mile GT500; I don’t want to paint the roof.

How deep is it, does it catch your fingernail? I wouldn`t do much to it unless I had paint gauge readings that left me a lot of room.

Really sucks, a repaint isn`t something you want on a car like that too.

Yeah. It does suck. I put ppf over it again thinking it would maybe somewhat conceal it. But no cigar.

This seems to be a common complaint about PPF, the installer cutting on the paint. It`s kind of a non-sequitur, "I`m putting this PPF on to protect your paint, so let me cut the paint with a razor while I`m doing it". (apologies to the English majors, I`m sure there was a better term to use than "non-sequitur", but my brain hurts this morning)

Let us all know how you will proceed to remedy/fix your PPF razor scratch.
No, I do not have ANY suggestions.
I am more interested in when the old PPF was installed and what you did to remove it. Steam and a steady pull-back?
I assume your GT500 is a relatively newer model year, like a 2018 or later, judging by the lower mileage.

Your use of the term "Non-sequitur" seems OK, but I think trying to explain that applying PPF and then fitting it to a vehicle by cutting it with a razor will ALWAYS result in razor cuts to a surface., especially if it is custom-fitting a sheet that is not pre-cut to the surface it is being applied to, is akin (IE similar comparison) to a surgeon saying you will have minimal scarring after a surgery., even with laparoscopy or robotic surgery. A non sequitur is a conclusion or reply that doesn`t follow logically from the previous statement.
In a similar vein, there was an Autopian (Jeff Suggs?) that stated he could remove decals or road paint from a vehicle surface with a METAL razor rather than the plastic razor most detailers would "normally" use a plastic blade, and not scratch the paint. Not sure this is possible, just as most PPF installers would probably say paint scratches with a custom cut-and-fit PPF instillation are inevitable.
 
What did the PPF Installer say when you told him about it ? He damaged your paint, he needs to make it right again, and this has to be done by the best Porsche Dealership or Shop that has the best painter... You will know he is good because you are going to ask to see a lot of his work, especially on correcting razor scratches, first, before you let anyone near this...
I personally do not think any amount of polishing is going to help this because it may have gone all the the way through that clear topcoat.
If I remember correctly, some Porsche paint was a little hard and some was medium...
Sorry this had to happen to your beautiful car...
You would think that an experienced PPF installer would know the difference in "feel" when cutting the plastic and cutting something plus the plastic...
Is there a way to check if they have a lot of complaints, etc., from other Clients ???

It is for a 2022 gt500. Not a Porsche :)
