PPCL or Body Scrub

Is PPCL and Meguiars body scrub similiar? Will one work better than the other as a follow up application to 3M SMR to further reduce any swirls and hazing? Any recommended methods and products to remove ANY swirls remaining after an application of compound, 3M P-IT 3, and 3M SMR? Technique is not an issue, just the products and process to apply them. As this is for a show car with no room for trial and error.

Meguiar's body scrub is as harsh as or harsher than SMR, which is way harsher than PPCL. PPCL is a mainly chemical cleaner with some mild abrasives. Use all of these products by machine for best results.
 
Is this the red bottle Body Scrub that you are talking about? I have a bottle and it doesn't say anywhere on it that it will remove swirls.

Talk about a contradicition! If there is no room for trial and error, you better have the technique down to be able to do the job right! Play it safe and go with the PPCL!
 
use all abrasive products <strong class='bbc'>by machine[/b]. By hand all abrasives will produce hazing as viewed under strong light. I recently tested and confirmed this by using abrasives like AIO, PPCL, Meguiar's #9 2.0, Meguiar's BodyShop Professional Swirl-Free Polish, 3M SMR #39009. This was by hand, with much varying of technique.

All left hazing under strong enough light. AIO seemed to leave less than ppcl.

As far as differences between products like swirlmark removers, <strong class='bbc'>technique is all that matters[/b]. You can get the same results from 3M SMR, Meg's #9 2.0 and other comparable products as long as you have the proper technique FOR EACH PRODUCT. Technique varies by product, as I learned when testing. I still don't have it down right and the hazing was angering me so I just drove 40 miles to Lowe's and bought a PC.

Now I just have to get pads . . .

I have the same bottle and it does not say anything about filling or removing swirls. I did call Meguiar's about this and one of their customer service reps said that it does indeed "remove" swirls. I asked him if it "filled" it in or "removed" it, and he confirmed it removed the swirls. In the end, I didn't trust his judgement and my bottle of Body Scrub is still on the shelf waiting for someone else's car.
 
I use Body Scrub and swirl remover as different products. Scrub get down deeper fro a great cleaner...then follow up with swirl remover, two coats maybe neccessary.

Puterbum is 100 correct, technique is all that matters, my scratches and swirls are examples of bad technique and being tired......
