Post Deployment Change Up

In the last two weeks of being deployed for seven months. I usually buy a new car when I get back from a deployment. I had an order in for a Hyper Blue A10 ZL1 that is being built this week.

Couple days ago I canceled the order. Gonna mod the Vette instead. Paid for ECS supercharger, headers and meth yesterday. Car will go in the shop next Saturday for install and tune. The day after I get back to the good ole US of A I`ll go watch them dyno/tune and drive two hours home with a sh*t eating grin.

700RWP is typical with this set up. We shall see where it ends up:)

The bride has driven it around the block once a week since I have been gone. Explicitly ordered not to wash it while I was gone so it is gonna need some quality time there too. Leaning towards polishing the WG coating off and going with Kamikaze or PA.

Bring yourself and your Soldiers back to a safer country Sergeant Major. Good choices on the product selection

Thank you for your service sir!

If it wasn`t for the decal on the hood of your vette, I would have said you`re crazy - the blue on the ZL1 is BEAUTIFUL!

Thank you for your service. Safe travels home and I appreciate your doing your part to keep the USA on top of our game.

Enjoy that vette and be careful with all that power.

Agreed. But I`m kinda partial to blue.

Good news is I am back home. Bad news car was supposed to be done a week ago but parts delay is killin me. Crossing fingers it is ready to be tuned Saturday.

Gunney - glad for your safe return! Maybe it would help to send a DI over to the parts folks to expedite delivery :)

Sergeant Major, welcome home. I hope all the Marines who deployed with you arrived home as well

SgtMajUSMC- Glad you made it back OK, and that car will be quite something when it`s done!

I *really* like it in blue! I`m usually kinda, uhm...neutral at best on those (do like Ron`s white one), but gee..that looks great.

Leaving in a few to finally go pick it up from the shop. A week and a half parts delay that felt excruciatingly long since the last time I saw it or drove it was October.

Ended up leaving the restrictor plate in, 8PSI boost, 607RWHP/570torque. More importantly three full days of street tuning/data logging. Wasn`t looking for max dyno number. I can always remove the restrictor plate later, but I am pretty sure this will be enough for a long time.

I will report back after the 2 1/2 hour drive home.

If it isn`t too much fun to drive, I will be spending a fair amount of time in the garage this weekend. Momma ran it thru a touch less wash a couple of times in the 7 months while I was gone and who knows what it will look like after that and a month at the shop.

I think I have settled on polishing off WG coating and going with 22ple HPC and VS1.
