Possibly The Coolest Thing I`ve Coated

To be considered the coolest thing I`ve coated, it has to be better than a mahogany speedboat that I did last year. What could top that? Well, how about a completely hand built, custom designed electric car that is based off of a 1930 Bugatti Roadster? What`s better is that my 80 year old father has been working on this project for a few years. Instead of having it painted, he decided to wrap the body and wanted me to coat the wrap. Simple job that I accomplished easily with Feynlab Ceramic Lite.

But first, let me show you Frankenstein`s shop where it has come to life. The metal worker is world renown and has built at least one of the batmobiles. His shop is in his garage....but it is very, very deceiving from the outside. Check out your view of the garage from the road:

Looks like a typical 2 car garage from the front, doesn`t it?? The side view is a little more telling:

Here is one view from inside showing the Bugatti:

Here is the car prior to being coated:

You can see it`s still a work in progress. There are other pieces that go on the car (door, horse collar grille, etc) that I coated off the car. Here`s what the wrap looked like coated:

The wheels got coated too:

One last thing. This idea came to me one day when I was cleaning my garage floor. I dreamed up the nickname "plugbug" for the car since it`s an electric Bugatti replica. My father liked the idea so much that he rushed out and got this plate for it:

Anyway, I thought I would share it in spite of being nothing much to coat...just the wrap was it. Hope you enjoyed it. This thing is going to be blisteringly fast! Those tires will get turned into a smoke show with the power of the electric motors!!

Talk about blending into the neighborhood, if I was young again, that’s the neighbor I would like to live next door to.

That is one sharp Hot Wheel Car.

richy- !OMG OMG OMG!

I couldn`t really care less about coatings or wraps and can`t really tell anything much about how they turn out from internet pics...but I had a weird suspicion that I just *had to* check out this thread and sure enough what a treat!

Thanks so much for sharing this with us!

Dude, I`m so glad you liked it. I was hoping the title of the thread would create some interest. Glad it caught your eye!

So cool! I feel like true fabricators are a dying breed. Hats off to your father for being a master at his craft! Very cool project.

When said "coolest". you meant it. I am not sure what is cooler: the car or the metal-working shop machinery and tools and the (extremely) skilled craftsman/fabricator using the machinery and creating this rolling piece of automotive art. This truly is one-of-a-kind of an auto creation and the electric engine/propulsion only adds to the uniqueness of this whole creative experience.
