They do make them for 1 room 200-300 sq feet. Cools (and heats in winter, 3-speed setting), takes the moisture out of the air and rids it by re-cycling it internally. Good for attics or rooms with no windows. I have central air but could use extra cooling in an upstairs bedroom during the summer. Cost is ~$250-600 depending on btu's.

Anyone ever buy one of these?

We do have a portable ac unit here for the home. You just run the vent to the window and done. EZPZ. Upright unit on wheels. She got it on one of the home shopping deals. LOVE IT! Cools the main living area in no time. A little noisy, but thats the trade off. Going to hit the 80's this week, so going to hook it up today. BUT i see your looking for a ventless.

Right. No hookups required nor wanted. You may not find them locally but if you Google, they are avail online. My second choice is a small dehumidifier since AC is running when its hot. For an attic, PHV is perfect.

Will check Lowe's and HD this week.

Which one do you have? I was thinking about buying one for the living room when gets in the 90's here.

I don't think it's possible because AC generates more heat than it produces cold. The only way to have a ventless AC is a water cooled one, but you need a water supply and a drain...
