Porsche, Mercedes, Infiniti, Red Vette, F-750, & Sterling Dump Truck!!

I haven't posted in C&B for awhile...

The following detail photos are a few of the details I found and was able to get photos of.

Please excuse the photo quality as my skills are in detailing and not photo taking...yet! :D

First up is the monster Sterling Dump Truck. I care for some Peterbilits on a regular basis, but the front of the Sterling is unbelievably huge!!

Process:

Polish with LongHaul Truck Polish, #26, and Ardex topaz. All chrome and aluminum were polished with Flitz by hand.....

Don't worry, I'm buying a new camera this week! :chuckle:

Enjoy! :xyxthumbs

WOW, Just washing a truck like that is a big job IMO, how long did you work on them?

The Corvette looks amazing, so wet, they all look amazing.

Good thing you are buying a new camera, your work is well worth it :xyxthumbs

Corvette takes the cake for me, but they're all looking good.

Don't see the #26/#16 combo too often but it does seem like it's worth a try.

Quick question...

On a car as new as a C6 Corvette, is SSR 2.5 "light" enough for an overall application? I have never tried that as I was always assuming it was too harsh for that. It came out looking so good that I am inclined to think that was a good move on your part.

Thank you all for the kind words.

I forgot to mention I used SSR2.5 on the Vette because the dealer put some horrific holograms and swirls on the paint after I detailed it earlier this year. I don't know why she had it detailed again, and at the dealership for that matter, but I will permanently be the only one who touches this vehicle...including regualr washing! :xyxthumbs

The big Sterling took me 7 hours to do on the outside! The whole rear area was heavily oxidized!

I've lost alot of weight this summer! :chuckle:

Great job on all the vehicles. I'm definitely impressed with all of them.

My question is, why do people bother detailing dump trucks? Isn't their purpose to get down and dirty?

BEAUTIFUL work AJ!!! :xyxthumbs

I've seen more than one of your dump truck details and all I can say is..... STUD!!!! :LOLOL That is just flat out impressive man!!

I wouldn't even know where to begin on those trucks!! Maybe I would quote the guy and outrageous price than call on you to clean it up for me, hahaha!!

On that G35, Stoner's Trim Shine works wonders for their lower plastic valences.

I think that is about as deep, rich and wet as I have ever seen red paint look!

How is Long Haul working out for you?

Sorry it took so long to get back guys.

Thank you all for the kind words. :)

I asked myself the same question when I got the first contract. But, after doing these guys after awhile I realized the anwser to that question....image. 8 out of 10 dump trucks you see going down the road are filthy, my customer's just happen to be in the equation of very clean dump trucks. They tell me over and over again how many compliments and more business they get from having clean trucks.

I'm thinking of getting a Cannon digital. I'm not sure yet. I'm heading over to Ritz Camera on Tuesday.

I use Stoner's alot on trim, but I ran out for this job. So, I took some AA and put it on a foam pad and used that instead. I do agree, Stoners does work awesome!

I love LongHaul! With doing these large trucks, using something that is easy to work with and produce awesome results is a must, and Longhaul delivers all the time....even if it's not trucks. Durability IMO is great. I put some LH on an Avalanche back in 3/05 and it's still holding up very well (reflective, beading, etc.). :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

I agree with you about Long Haul. It was a real nice find and definitely one of the better OTC cleaner waxes. The excellent durability was a nice suprise, gives me a true quality one step option that won't stop beading in 4-5 weeks.
