Porsche, Hummer, Dually, P/U, flood

Tex Star Detail

Formerly TexasTB
1990 Porsche:
Full Detail
Interior wasn't bad at all. The car is kept in storage, so it doesn't see any rain.
Exterior was moderate. Minor swirls and scratches. Upon closer inspection, the car was a repaint, and the owners did not know. They bought it last December. I pointed out a few signs that it was. Being a repaint, and a '90 model, I did not want to get too aggressive with paint correction. Did about 80% correction, and the client was more than happy.

Wash with CB Wash & Wax soap (did not need clay)
Polish w/ CB Medium duty compound/Megs #66 (50/50)
Topped w/ Pinnacle Sov. Paste
Tires/Trim/Wells/Top w/ CB Purple Dressing
Rims cleaned w/soap & water, polished with Mothers Power Metal(?)
Glass w/ CB glass cleaner

(camera was on the wrong setting, sorry for the washed out pics.)

the tires on that hummer are impressive. And you do things that I wish I could do...the full restore process of replacing and installing new carpet.

Excellent work.:bow

I'm a little partial to the Porsche, but all of them look very good. It looks like you've been keeping really busy lately.

those tires look great on the hummer... what was the process with the dressing? and where can you pick it up?

dressing on the Hummer is from a distributor here.
Called purple dressing. From Car Brite.
Just spray it on. I usually spray it into a stiff brush and then brush the tire to get a nice satin sheen on the tire. I RARELY do tires like that, but the customer wanted MEGA GLOSS.......lol

Yikes. I bet that Hummer will have some nice silicone dots running all up the side of it because of the MEGA GLOSS tires.:notme:

Good to see you keeping busy Chris.

BTW, Your signature looks like it needs my help again.:dnaughty

Great job on all of them. I really like the tire but i wouldent want any sling (PITA) so I dont have them look like that lol. How long dose it take you to do on of them flood repairs. Carpet, carpet padding, etc.????

I would definitely try to talk the customer out of it if it were me. The sling kills a good detail IMO. Even the best tire gel put on thick enough to make that much shine is gonna make a mess.

Thanks.

It reallt depends on what needs to be done to the vehicle. Sometimes it takes me 2 hours max, sometimes it takes 10 hours. Did you see the big flood job thread I did before?
