Porsche Carrera 4, Tahoe

1999 Porsche Carrera 4. First time I've seen this car, one of my Bentley customers has had this car at his house in Colorado, rarely drives it so he brought it down here to sell. Better shape than I expected, light swirls, lots of dog hair inside and the refinished front bumper wasn't holding up that well, lots of chips on the lower half. But for a 13 year old car that's pretty good. He just wanted a basic (1 polishing step) full detail, which, given the decent condition of the paint, that was enough to get it into shape.

ONR wash, Opti-Raser clay sponge

Optimum Hyper Polish using an Optimum microfiber polishing pad and my PC 7424 XP

Optimum Opti-Seal (new formula)

Armor All on tires/fenderwells

3D Trim Protectant on all exterior trim

Optimum Metal Polish on the exhaust tips

Woolite/water at 20:1 dilution to clean leather and vinyl

3D Carpet Shampoo at 16:1 dilution to clean the carpets and mats

Optimum Protectant Plus on the vinyl...twice. The vinyl was really, really dry.

Meguiars Gold Class Leather Conditioner on the leather

The front seat really isn't that color, the glass at this condo had a gold tint to it, happened to be shining on the car when I took the pic

2010 Chevrolet Tahoe. I polished and waxed it when it was new, since then, I've waxed it one more time and washed it a few times when taking care of their other cars (E350, Carrera, Z4 among others they've had) but never detailed it until yesterday. I was supposed to detail it the day before but the weather guessers were promising a rainy afternoon that never materialized. Maybe 10-15 minutes of sprinkles here, the Tahoe's owner lives north of me, they really didn't get anything. That meant starting early because I had to pick up my son at the airport at 2 PM yesterday. :hairpull:

The owners had the Tahoe emptied out so I saved some time there. Overall the inside wasn't too bad, just a few stains here and there and the grey leather seats were a bit dirty. Didn't bother with pictures of the interior, with bright sunlight, it is really tough to get interior shots with the contrast of bright sun and shadows.

The front end was caked in bugs, been dealing with that all spring. Warm winter, lots of rain mean lots of huge bugs that apparently eat glue. Had to presoak the front end with Power Clean on this one. Managed to finish it up in time to get my son at 2 PM...but his flight was 35 minutes early so he had to wait about 5 minutes on me to get there. :lol

ONR wash, Opti-Raser clay sponge

Optimum Power Clean + ONR to remove bugs on front end

Optimum G-P-S using an Optimum microfiber polishing pad and my PC 7424 XP

Armor All on tires/fenderwells

3D Trim Protectant on exterior trim

Both vehicles look great. Thanks for sharing!

I was wondering what the Opti-Razer is (I haven't been able to find any info on it). Is it an older product that has gone away, or a newer one that has yet to come out? Or am I just looking in the wrong spots?

It is a sponge with tacky rubber on 1 or 2 sides, right now I am testing samples. The mild versions hold up really well, the aggressive ones not so much. Easier than traditional clay for light contamination removal. I can keep it on the bucket with ONR (they float) and use it as I go around the car. They are similar to the Magna Sponge: Hi Tech Magna Sponge

No idea when it will be available. I had the first samples of the new ONR last May, took 9 more months to come out. Dr. G doesn't like to send anything to market that hasn't been extensively tested.

Thanks for the answers Scott!

I don't mind waiting for quality! Besides I just purchased some clay, so I'll need to wait till I use it up to even think about something like this; maybe it'll be available by the time I run out.
