Thank you all for your kind comments! :)

I can assure that the owner is very happy with the results.

Beautiful car. For me its a toss up between the 993 and the 964 as to which is the best looking 911. Those are my favorite Porsche wheels too.

Awesome work! I did not know that you could achieve such wetness and gloss with 3M's paste wax.

Thanks a bunch, guys!

3M products are kinda sleepers. They aren't as sexy or at least as hyped as many other products, but all of the ones I've tried have been solid performers.

Their paste wax is really nice to work with. It has a pina colada smell to it reminescent of Souveran. As far as paste wax goes it's about 8 on a 1-10 scale of firmness. It layers well and sets up in a dry haze like your more traditional paste waxes. As you can see it also gives a nice deep wet look especially when layered and lasts pretty well for what it is.

The first two were back to back. The third about an hour later. The final three were applied during one day, a week later, and they were about an hour apart.

Did you have any immediate bonding/hazing issues when you applied most of your coats back to back? I know the general rule of thumb is to wait 24 hours between coats, but after seeing your results I am thinking there has to be an exception to the rule!

No, none. Relative humidity where I live is frequently under 20% which may have some effect.

I've heard that 24 hour interval mentioned, but I wonder if this is quantifiable or it just seems like a good idea? If there isn't any hazing, which has never been a problem for me, I don't see a downside to double coats back to back.

On the contrary I see it's positive attribute is that it doesn't require a second wash or QD 24 hours later. Since some wash formulas and many QDs leave their own residues behind I wonder if waiting could actually degrade the bonding properties of the wax?

I always have the urge to put on at least two coats of wax, but the 24 hour curing rule is what lingers in the back of my mind. However, after seeing your results I think I will have to try "back to back" coats this weekend and report my results.
