Porrboys EX... safe as Topper?

I have used it over Klasse AIO and it works fine. If need be re-apply a coat of AIO it will strip whatever is on the paint (Zaino or Klasse) and you can start a-new

It'll probably remove a little bit because of the solvents, if you want to remove the least I would apply it by hand. Probably better to go with a paste though.

Can I use PB EX (non-P) as a topper over Zaino or Klasse w/o stripping the previous layers?

If your Zaino or Klasse is fully cured the EX-P will remove about the same amount a low solvent carnuaba used topper would. Absolute or complete removal? :nixweiss

Probably not.

Who really knows?

Yes, you can. I would apply it by hand though. EX is not all in one product so it doesn't contain any polishing agents. Any removal of previous products would be minimal

Yeah, just as elortt said, EX should be fine to use. IIRC, again as elortt said, it does not contain any cleaners. Maybe Poorboy can chime in on this?

I used it on a red Porsche by hand after polishing and it picked up paint. It's a good product, but if I were using as a topper, I would stick with a was like S100/P21S or #16 or Blitz or ........

Did you wash vehicle after polishing. The red discoloration was probably from residuals from polishing lodged in pores that you were seeing on your application pad. :nixweiss

SamIam,

if you used it after polishing it would still pick up some paint. I detailed one 2 weeks ago. Porsche Single Stage Guards Red most likely, right? I found that I could use just about anything post polishing and I would get some color transfer, but after it cures and is buffed off, subsequent coats are different. Have you tried applying the s100 or any others to it post polishing?

Eric

elortt, yep, tried S100 and got no transfer, nada.

BlackZ28, I did not wash. I did wipe down some areas with W&S, but still got transfer. Did not get it with S100. That is not to say that your theory is incorrect. I would say though that while there may not be cleaners in it, there does seem to be alot of solvent, as there is in any liquid wax/polymer. Seems you would have better luck keeping your SG if you use a lower solvent product.

YMMV
