Pad cleaning is a serious issue. The last thing you want when starting to buff a car is use a pad that has dried product still inside hiding out to leave some good marring, or to come out as dusting. I currently use Meguiars foam pad cleaner (I bought out a rack of like 20 bottles from a discount store awhile back). Meguiars has always performed well, but has a distinct chemical smell. I was sent some Beta Tornado to test out.
I received a 4oz spray bottle of the translucent golden yellow liquid. The smell was more pleasant (if I remember correctly similar to DP Roadkill).
How I Clean My Pads:
1. Cover entire surface with Pad Cleaner
2. Push cleaner into pad
3. Let dwell for a couple minutes
4. Brush pad with Nylon brush
5. Either toss in a bucket of Water with APC or Immediately rinse with warm water till water runs clear
6. Spin pad on Machine to remove excess water
7. Set aside on wire rack or GritGuard to dry.
I used a hand pad to polish the inside of the door handles of a car with Polish Angel polish which is purple. With the megs cleaner it does not remove all the purple color from the pads and leaves behind a slight tint of purple. The PB cleaner however removed all of the polish and color. On step 5 from above I went to immediate rinse, and I noticed the pad rinsed clear in about half the time of the megs. The only thing however is Tornado left behind its own mark. You will notice in the pictures a slight yellow tint from the cleaner.
I am anticipating this release as well as some other offerings. The staining is not a huge issue that would stop me from purchasing and using, however would be nice if it did not leave its own mark. I hope this comes to market soon as scent is a big factor when using a cleaning product for me.
