Silver Car Fan
I apologize for the lack of pictures of the car with the trophy. Once I get them I will post a few. Last weekend I detailed a friend's Solara to help get him ready for NOPI Nationals. He kept the car garaged all week which was a good thing because of Ivan.
He has a dark green metallic paint job that really looks unique...and it is a factory job. I used SSR 2.5 and SSR 1 for swirl removal followed by PWC and EX. Even with some chips and scratches his paint looked wet.
Here are his comments and those of a friend of his:
"I just wanted to let everybody know that this is the 1st time I enter my car in any kind of show, and my 1st trophy ever... and it just so happens to have been 1ST PLACE for the Camry/Solara-Conservative class.
I just got back from NOPI Nationals and like every year, I had tons of fun! I never get tired of seeing hooked up cars from all over the states. A lot of people get tired of seeing nothing but Hondas (like me) in car shows, and because that same reason, that is most of what you see... but let's not forget that not everybody has the same stuff. Anyway, i took maybe 200+ pics and some drifting vids, and for me to go over them and fix them up it's going to take me a while but I'll try to get them out there. Since I was rolling with the SELOC club (www.seloc.net) you might see a few pics there already that some of the members took. Oh yeah, we got 1st place in best show for car clubs there too.
I've heard so many people say that they dont like NOPIs because the judges dont know how to "judge".... well I kinda agree cuz i think I should've come 2nd or maybe 3rd at least. My homeboy, Will from Charlotte, NC had his V6 Camry, Supercharged, 5-speed (a beauty), next to mine. It was obvious that he has definitely put more effort into his ride than me and he got 2nd.
Anyway, last but not least, I definitely need to thank Louis (solarat) and Todd (mtodde) for helping me out with my ride. Louis is my "experimenting" buddy, always trying out new stuff on his car and if i like it, he'll do it to mine LOL and he's always there to help me. Todd, people thought I had a custom paint job!! Dude, the car sparkles soooooo nice in the sun and some of the Lexus guys I was with wanted to know who detailed it so good. So now if more people want your services, you can tell them that you detailed a 1st Place winner at NOPIs LOL."
His friend, "Renee, your car was blinging !! If one more person asked me if you have a custom paint job I was going to start making stuff up. I had some paint reflection envy! The green machines represented !!
Not to dis the other cars in our class, but we were with the right crew. Presentation is everything !! Our stuff was neat clean and organized ! "
I will post pics as soon as I get them, but I couldn't have done this without Poorboy's products...we were working in the sun the whole time.
