Poorboys Trim Restorer streaking? Steve?

Yesterday my friend brought his red '97 Mustang Cobra over. When I polished it, I got some white marks on the black trim, so I went over all of the trim with Trim Restorer. Within seconds it dried up and streaked really bad, but it did remove the wax. The trim is very streaky and there was nothing that could get it off. I tried buffing, reapplying, etc. I applied with a microfiber towel and buffed off with another.

It worked great on my car and left a nice finish. Any idea why it would streak on his?

doesn't his car have the hard rubber trim? trim restorer is made mostly for gainy plastics, not smooth ones...also I'd apply with a foam paint brush for a more even coat...don't use too much.. and buff with cotton not mf...mf will tend to absorb it back off the finish.

His trim is hard textured plastic like mine. It's not AS textured, but definitely not smooth. I should have taken pics...
