Poorboys Trim Restore

I decided to order some trim restore for my dodge truck because the mirrors and the door handles look really bad plus I wanted to try it out on my car. I've tried using this stuff twice and it seems to evaporate and leave the plastic looking like I didn't apply anything. Am I doing something wrong? I washed the truck and even used some simple green on the mirrors to get them clean before I applied the trim restore and then once they dried I applied trim restore with a foam pad. when I would go back to buff it out a couple of minutes later it was ashy again :sadpace:

i used Forever Black on my 92 accord's trim (very faded and nasty in parts)...so far the results have been VERY good. the only tricky part with the product is getting an even application without streaking. applied a few times and so far so good...about 3 weeks into it now.

Trim Restorer (or any protectant/restorer for that matter) is not always a "apply/buff once" cure-all. There are going to be some plastics, rubber, etc that are extremely dry and will need multiple applications - they will absorb product a lot, but sooner or later the product will just "stick".

Trim restore is 75% restorative/25% dressing imo; you need to keep applying until the trim is re-hydrated. Well, that's been my experience anyway.

It's not evaporating.....it's soaking into the plastic. Keep applying! I had the same issues with it at first. But now I love it!

i had exactly the same results on my vw , multiple applications made no differance. i figure it works better on some plastics than others

megs #38 works better for me

I guess I'll keep applying it then. I hadn't read about people having to apply several times so I thought I might be doing something wrong. I was using a Tropi-Care dressing that lasts a long time but I hate the time I had to spend cleaning the trim.

When I used it on the truck I figured it was soaking in but when I used it on the car and it did the same thing I started to think I was doing something wrong. The trim on my car is in pretty good shape but I guess it's soaking up the trim restorer too
