My girlfriend bought me a porter cable 7336 from Lowes as a x-mas present. I am planning of getting the poorboys line up. I have some light scratches all over my black car and lots of swirls. Which one should i get SSR3, SSR2 or SSR1??? Also, which final polish would you guys recommend? I already have a S100 SEPC, will that be okay?

Here's what i plan on doin

1)SSR2 with yellow pad

2)SSR1 with white pad or (or should i use yellow pad?)

3) SEPC with white pad

4)Crystal Guard Quick

Thank you. I'll appreciate any other helpful suggestions.

Using the SEPC first would allow you to get paint clean, and give you a better idea of what product you need next, and it may even remove some swirls.

After the SEPC, I would try the SSR2 on the worst areas. If it doesn't work, move to the SSR3 with a more abrasive pad, and then the SSR1 with the polishing pad. Your can also make an extra pass over the vehicle with the SSR1 and your finishing pad for a little extra gloss prior to the Crystal Guard.

Hope this helps.

CGQ is not designed to be a complete stand-alone sealant. It is marketed that way on the website, but according to the distributor (Diamondjim) it is really only a topper for the CG Pro sealant. You should use a "real" sealant like Poorboys EX, let it set up for a week and then top with the CGQ. VERY smooth!

If you wanted to stick with the Poorboy's lineup, I'd go with the following

SSR2 on tougher areas with yellow pad

SSR1 on whole vehicle with white pad

Pro polish on whole vehicle with white pad

At least two coats of EX

That will give your car a great look. The SSR2 will remove the heavier swirls and SSR1 will cleanup the remains. SSR1 will leave a very good finish, but I like to hit the whole car with Pro Polish. It finished everything thing off nicely.

I get better durability and results with two coats of EX. I apply a thin coat to the whole car, let it dry for an hour and then remove. I then let the coat cure for 12 hours before I apply the second coat.

What is the difference between the SSR1 and Pro Polish products? Abrasiveness? Gloss?

How does menzerna intensive polish compare to SSR2? I do have a lot of light scratches here and there on my car. Is it safe do the whole car using SSR2 or should I use the SSR1???

maxshine,

Some people have had great results using SSR3 and a PC.

SLiM003,

Yes, you can do the whole vehilce with SSR2. It's only slightly more abrasive than SSR1.

White_F150,

I can't comment on SSR3 via PC - but I'm sure it works for some. I was just reiterating what Poorboy has posted in the recent past regarding this product. So I guess you may not get full potential w/PC.:wavey
