Poorboys Spray And Wipe Waterless Wash?

zesty-man

how do ya like it?
has anyone got the chance to use this product before? if so, did it work good, and is it something that you would use on any car? i was wondering...

what do you use to take it off
does heavy dirty come off easily?
is it safe for the car's paint?
would you get the same results out of a waterless wash, vs using a car wash with water?

ill probably think of more as we move along. anyways, thats it for now.

ever use a quick detail spray? Its the same thing with no gloss enhancing properties or wax. If your car is dirty, wash it. If your car is dusty wipe it down with S&W. contains no abrasives, it can be used on all sorts of surfaces, and its a pretty good product

I use S&W all the time for that purpose its cut down big time on washing for me. I use a CA duster to start then S&W, finish up with QD spray.
Apply product to the car if its fairly dirty, I let in on for a minute to work and looen the dirt up, then use a cotton towel to remove turning to keep a cleaner side down. Do not press real hard the S&W will do the work for you

ah, now i get it. so, whats the differnce betweent the waterless wash and the quick detailer? is it that, the purpose of the waterless wash is to prep it for polishing etc? and the quick detailer's purpose is to just give it that "just polished" look?

There are two types of QD, one that gives more gloss or just wax appearance (with use of carnauba sometimes or just some gloss enhancers for the coat you have) and one that just cleans. Some are geared to do both. S&W is just a cleaner, it doesnt give a nice glow or wax look. But it cleans so nice!

It depends on what QD your using. Final Detail uses silicone and other enhancers. PB QD+ is sorta thick because of Carnauba that gives a nice sheen. Quikshine from Clearkote is geared to do both enhancing / cleaning. Read and search and you will see what both of em do.

Hi zesty-man,

As other has said, S&W is a good cleaner with no wax or silicones. It doesn't have glow enhancing properties. It would be a good cleaner for a lightly dusty vehicle. But my motto is, "when in doubt, then wash".

Ranney :)

k got it. say i detailed my car the other day, then suddenly it rained and im like nooooooooooooooooo. could i use the waterless wash then?

:bigups Yep! Its perfect since there might be a little dirt. Just use alot of Microfibers from Ranney! And go easy on the S&W

Zesty,

The S&W is an unbelievable product. As a matter of fact I have 10 gallons of it right now!!! It will wash dirty cars too, but you may find that use are using alot of S&W. If there is caked on dirt, I will knock it off with water and then S&W. One of the biggest benefits to S&W is that once you are done you do not have to worry about dirty water dripping out of the seems, seals, door jambs, etc. Also, for mobile detailing you do not have to worry about water run off. So far it is probably my favorite Poorboys product. GET SOME AND LOTS OF IT!!!

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww.:angry, i cant imagine using such a high quality product on a dirty car, imagine what it would do to the towel... i cant stand seeing ranney's towels all dirty, i feel bad for them...
anyways, on a side note. i had some extra megs quick detailer, so i figured that i would try it on my mom's mercedes. i tired using a terry towel to wipe it off first, but there was lots of lint. so then i tried a lower quality MF towel (not ranneys) and it worked perfectly. it gives that nice shine, however, i think i may have used about 1/4 of the bottle on one ML 320..

?? :wait You won't use S&W on a car! :wait On a serious note, don't be afraid to dirty your microfibers, they won't stay perfectly new. Rewash em and you will see a true microfiber :)

I feel comfortable using S&W on light and moderate dirt. It also works great as a pre-soak for extremely dirty cars. However, it is imperative to use high quality microfiber towels if you want to use S&W this way. Don't worry about getting Ranney's towels dirty. They will wash clean and be ready to use over and over. High quality MF towels are very durable.

Regarding Meg's Quik Detailer, this is a nice locally available QD. It has very good gloss enhancing properties, but it cannot handle dirt as well as S&W. Use it for dusting or for extra "pop" after washing. By the way, 1/4 of a bottle seems like a lot for one ML. The Quik Detailer spray head puts out a very fine mist which can cover a broad area. There's no need to saturate the panels.

I've used about 7 gallons in the last year and I use it almost every day. It's great stuff!

I only have to wash the truck a couple times a month if that. It does a great job on paiint, windows, chrome, plastic......everything. You really have to try it to believe it.....but be prepared to order the 5 gallon bucket once you try it.

S&W is my most used product. I use it daily to clean the windshield, the rims and weekly to remove dust or mild dirt. We have water restrictions here so it really helps me cut down on the number of washings. I haven't had any scratching or swirls from using S&W. :bigups
