Poorboy's Spray and Wipe opinions and tips?

1 Clean WS6

Detailing Rottweiler
Hey guys!

I just ordered some of the one Poorboy's product I have not tried yet. Everything else I have used from SSR 2.5 to EX has exceeded my expectations so I thought I'd give some Spray and Wipe a try.

My question is what do you all think of this product? How dirty of a car have you used it on? How does the Spray and Wipe process differ from using a regular QD? Any tips/tricks for using this product?

Your input is greatly apprciated!

Mike :cool

Spray and Wipe is one of, if not the best products from Poorboy's.

Yes I agree all their products are awesome, but this stuff is great!!!

I use it with a WW MF (16x24" from Dwayne). Spritz on (little goes a pretty long way), let sit for 10-20 seconds, wipe down lightly (front to back), flip towel, and wipe clean.

I use it every 3-5 days as a waterless wash.

I do the same method as Sean....grey 16x24 waffle weave from www.premiumautocare.com - spray on, wait a few seconds, wipe off in back and forth motions. I have no noticeable marring from it, and it is great to remove bugs from long drives and dust that accumulates from sitting in the garage over time. I do the whole car with it as long as it's not too dirty, but I can't remember the last time I even let the car get dirty :lmfao

will this not put scratches in your paint? How could it not? Is there spray and wipe considered a quick detailer or a washless product?

Aloha 00GM,

The trick is using the waffle weave towel and wiping with the body lines back and forth. The dirt gets trapped in the weave ..

I use it with a cotton towel and have had no problem at all. I do the same as all of you. I find that the dirt just wipes off.

To answer your question about how dirty is to dirty, depends on how long the dirt has been sitting I wash once a month for good measure then S&W the rest of the time and that can be daily with a black car

If I could have only "one" QD, it would be S & W!

Anytime you touch your paint, you run the risk of marring the surface. However, S & W has the ability to emulsify dirt, and with it's lubricatants, allows the dirt to be removed safely. Is it 100% effective? Probably not............. but it's the best of any other product I've tried.

I've used it almost every day for over about 18 months........ 9 gallons (!), and have never had a problem and seldom have to wash the truck. It's S&W that got me started with the rest of the Poorboy line. It's great stuff. It does not scratch the surface and I've used it when the truck was pretty dirty.

It was bragging up S&W that got me censored and almost kicked off the other detailing site....which made me mad enough to just stop going there. :D :lmfao

It's more of a waterless wash (as stated on the label) than a qd (also listed on the label!). It's not supposed to add to the gloss of the car, just cleans it.
As to the scratching, I find that the trick to getting the dirt off without marring is to:
1-use a few cloths, once one part of the cloth is a little dirty, flip to a clean part. If you aren't sure if it's too dirty or not, it's probably too dirty. Change to a fresh part/cloth.
2-after spraying and waiting a bit, lightly wipe the surface to get the dirt off the car. Pushing it or rubbing the dirt off runs the risk of scratches. Don't be too concerned with streaks at this point. just get the dirt off. Once you've cleaned the dirt off, you can go over the car again with a fresh cloth and S+W and get rid of the streaks.

I tend to go a little on the cautious side, as I have a black car, which shows marring readily. If you don't have anything besides fingerprints to wipe off, you could do the whole car with one cloth, and one go-round.

This is just my method. I have been known to do things in odd ways from time to time. :-p

is that ever an understatement :lmfao

Yes it is both...if you want it to clean it will clean safely.
I believe a well prepped and maintained finish that was shiny and glossy before getting dirty should not need an enhancer, but only needs to be cleaned and returned to its previous state, thus no silicones or waxes to create its own shine.

What if the Hokey Pokey IS really what it's all about?

Absolutely one of the best sigs I've seen! If I were to ever use it, to whom would I give credit?

Back OT 1 Clean WS6 S&W is just downright the most versatile product in my arsenal. I just can't think of many "tips" regarding its use. Using common sense ie. don't "rub" a dirty surface, and I haven't noticed any marring. I don't view it as a "trick" but mixing with distilled water (or you can use it straight) for glass and if you want to add some gloss mix with a QD.

JimS, you got banned (censored) for talking about S&W? What site was that?

I dunno. I'm sure someone brilliant thought of it first. I was just sitting around at a "social event" and feeling a little too reflective (ie. nobody dancing with me :( ) and I thought "is this really what it's all about? Is there a metaphor that I'm missing? ..." Then I stopped thinking as I was asked to dance. :)

:lmfao I would say "you are a funny man", but we all know what kind of "trouble" that got Ray Liotta's (sp?) character in Good Fellas :)

Without another reference, then I guess the credit goes to Big Leegr.

The universe is runnin' away
I heard it on the news just the other day
There's this new stuff called dark energy
We can't measure and we can't see
It's some elemental mystery
Train that we can't catch

But our heads are in the oven
And somebody's 'bout to strike a match

Meanwhile back on our big round ball
Things are getting serious as cholesterol
Permutations, calculations,
Greedy piggies at the trough
Arrogance and ignorance
Just to top it off
I just can't keep up with the Nasdaq
Who got sold and bought
I've got to take my lunch break
But I'll leave you with a little for thought

Maybe it's all too simple
For our brains to figure it out
What if the hokey pokey
Is all it really is about

What if life is just a cosmic joke
Like spiders in your underwear or olives in
your coke
My life can get as messy as a day old sticky bun
So I arm myself with punch lines and a big ol'
water gun
They say it's not that simple but just maybe it
should be
It's time to change the subject, would you join me
in a cup of herbal tea?

Maybe it's all too simple
For our brains to figure it out
What if the hokey pokey
Is all it really is about

I still believe in rock 'n' roll
It pays my bills and soothes my soul
There really really isn't
A whole lot more around
Except for Frank Sinatra and the Big
band sound
I want music in the music
I want chicken in the soup
I want caffeine in my system let's revive
the hula hoop

Maybe it's all too simple
For our brains to figure it out
What if the hokey pokey
Is all it really is about

:bigups Thanks Jared. I can still give credit to Big Leegr for bringing it to my attention.

I'm still laughing.
