Poorboy's Natural Look and Trim Restore praises

I have only been using these two products for a couple of months and I have fallen in love with them both. They're so easy to use and yet are so effective. I use the Trim Restore on rubber trim, moldings, wheel wells, etc. and Natural Look on door panels, dash, kickboards, etc. They are really buff on (or spray on, in the case of TR) and buff off. They leave just a LITTLE sheen behind, which I personally like, but are not greasy looking after being buffed off. I understand that they both have cleaning abilities in them so that they each clean, restore, and protect all in one. I love it.

They both smell fantastic as well

Now if I could just sing such high praises for the Leather Stuff... I'm still working the bugs out of that product.

I agree. I love both of the products as well. Natural Look doesn't last too long on tires though. Trim Restorer lasts forever, but I don't think it'd be a good thing to use on tires. I'll just stick with my WG gel that looks nice for ~2 weeks at a time.

I'm wondering why you think Trim Restorer would not be suitable to use on tires?

Awhile ago, I emailed Poorboy's to ask about using TR on tires. Here's my email with PB's response:

Me:

> I'm looking for a (relatively) long lasting tire dressing that gives a matte

> look (I hate glossy tire dressings!) Would your Trim Restorer fit the bill?

> Thanks.

PB's Response:

That's exactly what I would do...put it on with a sponge applicator or brush..wait about 20-30 minute and lightly buff..

The reason I thought that, is because Trim Restorer has substantial cleaners in it, which would remove the natural waxes from the tire rubber.

But I guess if Poorboy's actually approves of that use, maybe it isn't as detrimental to tire waxes as I thought.

Have not been into tire cleaning as long as i have been detailing paint but the Poorboy's TrimRestore is at the top of my list at this moment. Looks great on the trim of my black truck. It gleams but doesn't have a greasy feel to it.

I'm also a fan of Natural Look. It is a very nice interior protectant. Not so good on exterior trim... doesn't hold up to rain at all.

I'm not as big a fan of Trim Restorer.

Yeah, I have also noticed NL is not the best durability wise... it kind of makes me wonder how long it will sufficiently protect a dash board in the hot summer sun. I usually apply it every two weeks or so just in case as it is so easy to use.

I had a thread asking about TR lastingon exterior trim in the rain and not running. The consensus was that it wont run in the rain or when it gets wet. You TR fans agree?

I think Trim Restorer runs if you don't buff the excess off well enough. I've had it run, and I've had it not run. So my guess is that I didn't buff it off well enough and that caused some running.

I have TR on the black exterior trim of my vehicle and as long as it is "buffed" after application it doesn't seem to run at all. I've been very pleased with the durability of it as I use in on trim that is at the lowest area on my unit.

The other beauty is a little goes a long way.

For tires I use BnB (Poorboy's Bold N Brite) and find durability quite good on it. It is a water based product though where TR is solvent based.

A friends 2 yr old Durango has trim on the rear that looks like crap already.

Here is a pic after trim restore:

It helped the appearance some, best out of any product that was tried on it.

This trim on the durango is just crap. They have an extended warranty so lets see if the dealer will replace it.

Side running boards looked bad too:

Caution: Do not put TR on running boards, it makes them very slippery. After my friends wife told me this, I removed it with some IP. :bolt

I'm very pleased with this product - it is easy to apply and the results are exceptional. If ease of application is not of concern, Black Again has greater durability and gloss (and goes a lot further). But as a detailer, I'll choose Trim Restorer over Black Again simply because it is so much easier to rub on.

Trim Restorer is water based as well. Chemically it's from the siloxane family. I got this info from Steve at PB's.
