Poorboys EX Problem

Just tried Poorboys EX for the first time today and wanted to know if anyone else is having the same problem as I am. I used VM as my base and then preceded to apply EX to the whole vehicle. This was just purchased and was told this was the new formula. For one thing EX is very thick and doesn't spread very easy although is does buff off with a microfiber towel with no problems at all. I also love the shine.



After waiting 30 to 60 minutes as per the instructions I buffed off with a microfiber towel. About 30 minutes to an hours later is when my problems started. I started seeing little spots that look like tire dressing sling. This was all over the vehicle.



I got another microfiber towel and redid the entire vehicle thinking this would solve the problem. Wrong!!! You guessed it about 20 minutes later same thing. I decided to use my Adams Detail Spray on the whole vehicle and this seemed to take care of it.



Has anyone else had this problem? I've heard so many good things about this product but honestly I don't think I'll use it again. The vehicle I was doing was a first time customer + I can't constantly be redoing things like this.
 
I have heard that is a problem before. I used it today and I think that problem is that you are putting it on too thick. If you have a PC put it on with that, I did and it worked great.
 
If using a PC or rotary, apply EX (or any other LSP) extremely thin . . . basically work it into the paint until it all but disappears. From my experience it makes a significant difference in gloss and you wonâ€â„¢t waste product. Add a quick second coat for uniformity and wipe down. Voila! Beautiful shine and well protected.

I agree that the problem might be that it's on to thick. Most sealants require a very thin coat. I've never experienced the problem he's describing, but I have found that some residue will appear in a couple places a few days after waxing, especially in seams.:)
 
I have heard others complain about this exact same thing. I have been fighting the urge to place my order for EX and Natty's for the past week, because of this problem. I was hoping that the new EX would have taken care of this.:(
 
I've had the exact same problem, was driving me crazy. Found that by applying it very, very thin using PC with a black finishing pad at speed 3 the spots did not come back. (also left it on for 30 minutes before removing). Try it this way, should work!
 
Are you talking about the EX w/carnauba or the EX-P? If the version of EX-P you have is thick, you have the original version. The EX w/carnauba is still somewhat thick, sort of like Meguiars #26 liquid.



Like the others said, go with as thin a layer as you can lay down and that should solve your problems.
 
Hmm, this is very odd. I've used VM + EX, EX-P, and even the new EX-P+ and never experienced this problem. As a matter of fact, I used VM + EX-P+ today on my brother's white Cobra and it turned out absolutely stunning.



Have you emailed Poorboy about this yet? I'm moving this thread to the Ask The Manufacturer Forum so he can respond to this question without being in violation of Autopia rules.

EX w/carnauba. I use other sealants and do apply these pretty thin. I like to put these on by hand and don't feel one should have to apply by machine to keep this from happening.
 
This was my response from Poorboys.



It was probably the VM that was used as a base. The EX that Detailed image has is the new version and will probably not bond to the VM without the VM being totally cured.



My question is how long does it take for VM to cure?
 
I have never had this problem and I use EX a lot. I wring out my applicator in hot water, which help spread a thin coat.



Did you apply with a dry applicator?
