hi guys
please excuse me if this has been discussed before but i am quite confused with so many good products out there.
i am close to buying a pc. now, i would like some advice on what products to buy, mainly swirl removers and sealant(s).
i have read numerous praises on poorboys' ssr 1 & 2.5. i would like to know if the four* swr is similar to ssr 1 & 2.5. i have 2 cars, one silver and 1 beige, and i need some advice on what swirl removers should i get.
also, i read that the ssr is okay to be applied under the sun. is this the same for the four*?
or should i go with ssr 1+ ssr2.5 + four* upp instead?
thanks for your advice.

c280,

You are right, there are a lot of good products out there and you have named several in your thread. Don't let that confuse you.......... you are taking the right approach by trying to correctly "prep" your finish first, and then worry about "which wax is best"?

Anyhow, I haven't used the 4* SMR product. However, I have used most of their other products, and they have never let me down............ excellent stuff. On the other hand, I've also used most of Poorboy's products......... same deal......... excellent stuff!

Having said all that, if your paint needs just some light prep, I would bet that SSR1, SSR2, or 4* SMR would work just fine. I believe the 4* is somewhere between SSR1 and SSR2 in abrasiveness. Now, if your swirls are a bit more than "light", the SSR2.5 is a fine product for removing them if used properly.

As for sealant, again, it's a similar deal. You could go with anyone of a number of good ones and be hard pressed to tell the difference. Products like UPP, EX-P, EX, FMJ, Wolfgang, Klasse, Zaino, and several others will all look great on a well preped surface. It's all a matter of preference.

ive used poorboys products and im really happy with the results. poorboys and 4star are really good products. for sealant, the 4star UPP is very good and im gonna order mine soon.

my friend has poorboys SSRs and when he polish my car using poorboys SSR, i was please with the results. i recommend poorboys, the brand is great!!!

Boss & TSX, thanks for your inputs.

You are welcome! Don't forget........... concentrate on the process and procedure.......... most good products will take of themselves. :bigups
