Poor Boys Natural Look

Hello All. I was looking for a nice Matte Finish on tires so I figured I would give Poor Boys Natual Look a try. It went on very easy and looked very nice when done. I actually let it dry and went back for a second coat. Tires looked amazing yesterday. This morning the tires look streaky. I applied with a foam applicator. Have you all had any issues with streaking from the Natural Look? How do you apply and what type of applicator do you use? Thanks

I always apply Natural Look with a MF applicator. I have never had an issue with streaking. I have only used it on interiors though.

yeah I have heard great things with using it on the interior. I wanted a nice black matte look on the tires as well though. Do you apply it on the interior at every wash?

I've used this before along with other PB's dressings and have never encountered streaking. My guess is that the tire was not 100% clean (something that can be important when your switching up dressings - especially when going from an "oil" based to water based).

What was your previous dressing?

I'm going to go with Swanicyouth on this one

Did you scrub the tires down with an APC?

Agreed. Often you will have to scrub a couple times with APC to get it all off. I think each tire should get hit at least twice when cleaning. The first cleaning you see all the dirt and old dressing and it's not till the second pass that you know if you really got it all and if not hit it a third time.

As for application I usually go over it with a foam applicator and come back around with a microfiber to get any excess.

Natural Look is my all in one go to product. I use it on exterior trim, tires, Interior component and leather. Never had a streaking problem. As suggested above make sure tires are cleaned properly and also dried properly. Have you ever checked out Bold and Bright? That offers a nice matte finish with a single thin coat and can increase the gloss with added coats >)

Thanks all.. wow. Thats what it is. Im not doing a good enough job cleaning the tires. I currently use Mequiars hot rims wheel and tire cleaner. Which APC would you recommend thats cost effective? I swear Im spending like crazy on cleaning items. :) Also using a foam applicator and following up with a mf pad is the best application? One or two coats of the Natural look?

Zep 505 works wonders for me on tires... if you want cheap and OTC.

Megs D101 is also supposed to be great!

Do yourself a favor and get foaming sprayers for whichever you chose. It's little things like that that really make me enjoy cleaning the car.

Any good APC will work for you, just make sure as others have stated get it clean.

You might also buff the NL once it's applied to the surface. This makes it even on the surface and will take that streaking away
