I have the Rigid wd4050 and am pretty happy with it except the hose length. I've been debating on buying the 10ft heavy duty hose from Home Depot. Today I was in Ollies (kind of like Big Lots but in the VA, MD, PA, DE area) and they had some pool vacuum hoses. Very close or the same as most of the crush resistant hoses I've had over the years. It was 1-1/2" which is a little smaller than the factory hose on the WD4050. 30ft blue/black $19.95. They had other lengths and sizes but everything else was 1-1/4". I'd like to have gotten 2-1/2" but oh well. It has two attached ends. I cut one off to try and put the hose over the rigid locking adaptor but it wouldn't stretch. A little tape on the end of the adaptor that was on the hose will give a tight fit. I tried it out using all 30ft and it worked pretty good. It'll work better once I clean the filter and tape the adaptors. If I could leave the vacuum in the truck that would be nice. If suction isn't enough I'll just cut it down to 10-15'. $20 was about my limit anymore than that and I'd just have ordered some online. Now I just need some Fusion paint to turn the orange on the vacuum to the light blue on the hose :laugh:
