Pollen then Rain....QD?

Let's say you get some pollen on your car, then it rains quite a bit.

Of course once it's done raining your car will have spots all over it...



is it safe to use a quick detailer then, or does the entire thing need to be washed?

Thoughts?

I think you need to rewash. If it didn't rain you can pretty safely use a California duster to pick up the pollen, but when it has rained, the pollen is stuck to the surface. I've seen many microscopic photos of pollen, and the have edges like mini razors. Any sort of wiping with a lubrciant when it's stuck to the surface like that, is likely to produce significant marring.

Just curious because that has been the pattern here for the past 3 weeks! :soscared:



I have been wiping down both cars with a damp MF, then using Megs Final on the silver car and Sonus Carnuaba on the black car. This has been necessary almost every single day for the afore mentioned 3 weeks. So far, so good.



My only request would be that the Megs would come in a keg-sized container because its going to go quickly!

When I can't get to the pollen with my Cali. Car Duster before the rain...i ALWAYS rewash. I wouldn't take a chance.

I think that whenever anything is "stuck" to your vehicle, such as pollen is after it rains, it is always much safer to wash the vehicle rather than risk scratching the surface by simply wiping with a QD.
