polishing with Rejex???

My friend jsut got a PC and used some 3000 grit paper to wet sand her M3, afterwards, they used the Sonus pads to polish the car...

then thing is, they used RejeX as a polish, on all 3 pads... (heavy cut,m med cut, and light cutting pads)

now, I'm totally confused now, the way I understand it is that the pads are to be used for the various cutting compounds (heavy w/ heavy pad, etc) however, they said it turned out very well.????

now I haven't actually seen the car yet, but I know that RejeX isn't a polish, so how was he able to accomplish this?? did the RejeX just fill in the 3000 grit scratches?? what will the long-term effects be from this sort of thing? Also, is it okay to use conventional products like Klasse, DACP, etc on these pads now that they've all been exposed to RejeX??

from what i know rejex is a polymer synthetic sealant. Unless it has some light filling abilities it may work. I dont know who would wetsand their vehicle then buff it out w/something like NXT i dont know how they did it but i would like to see pics.

Sounds very fishy to me also. I'd want to look at the finish first hand to see how it really came out. A quote from the RejeX website: "RejeX is not meant to be used on porous surfaces, highly oxidized painted surfaces, or to fill fine scratches."

If any polishing was accomplished at all it was from the pads used, but I find it hard to believe they achieved an acceptable finish in that manner.

As far as the pads go, if they are presoaked and cleaned with something like dawn or an APC they should be able to be cleaned up. I've never used the stuff so I have no idea how well the pads will clean up if the RejeX was allowed to dry.

I know some who will use a pad for other products after they wash them, but to avoid cross contamination I always dedicate one pad to one product, even after cleaning (which I do after each use).

Rejex should be used as a sealant and not to be used to prep a vehicle. It doesn't have any abrasive chemical cleaners (i.e. AIO) or micro abrasive grits (i.e PB SSR 2.5).

Rejex should be considered a LSP prior to a carnauba wax topper (optional).

With Aloha,

Ranney :)
