my car has very shiny piano black plastic near the side view mirrors that has been swirled by the dealer.... i tried cleaning them up with plastix and a cleaner wax, it cleaned it up some but still lots of scratches, i used a mf towel

is there any real good way of cleaning the swirls out of plastic? the area is very tight so getting a machine in there will be difficult

any thoughts?

Going to have to use a machine on that, I could only imagine how long that would take by hand. Also keep in mind that while it is plastic, it's painted and clear coated plastic so you need to treat like any other paint on your car. I use a rotary and a 3' pad with some extensions to get in right area's like that. If you don't have access to these things or a small D/A with a little pad. I'd seek out a local pro who has the equipment on hand and have them do it. If you really want to do it your self and add another tool your detailing supplies get a 3' GG D/A. This works wonders for fitting in small areas. Use something like a medium polish(Black Fire SRC compound would be what I would grab) with a 3' cutting pad. Probably would take a few passes to get right(Dealer installed swirls tend to be deep) Hope this helps and good luck!
