Polishing procedure advice

My Story:

Have a 2 year old red SUV with light swirls..mostly from improper washing. Will be getting a new truck in about a month so I want to get some supplies to remove the light swirls on the SUV and also remove the dealer swirls that will be inflicted on the truck. Would like to try the Adapt and Polish. I figure I would start with the Polish with a white 5.5 LC flat pad on both vehicles. In case this doesnt work, would my next move be the Polish on an LC Orange pad or should I step up to the Adapt with the white pad? This is with a 7424. Not sure how hard the paint is on either vehicle (Ford(red)/Toyota(blue)) Thanks for the help.

Don't know if this is a possibility or not but the best swirls to remove are the ones that aren't there. If you're waiting for the truck ask them not to touch it when it arrives. Remove the plastic yourself and you'll have less initial damage. Many of the members (including myself twice in the past 6 months) opt for this as a good way to start out on a vehicle that you've ordered.
