Polishing Plastic Bumpers

I am polishing a 2003 Grand Prix in the morn, and I need to know if the plastic bumpers get the same treatment asth body panels? I will be using my Flex with 6.5 pads and PC with 4 inch pads. I have Men PC, IP, FP. I will be using Wolfgang 3.0 topped with Fusion. Any suggestions would be great.:thx

I would go a little easy on plastic bumpers. Don't get it too hot. 3.0 and Fuzion should be a winner.

Like he said- pay attention to the temperature but otherwise it should be relatively the same.

I have noticed that often times plastic parts on cars are painted entirely different than the rest of the car and sometimes the combo that works on one part of the car will not work on the bumpers (bumpers generally give me more trouble).

Just a thought.

Paint used on plastic uses an agent that keeps it flexible and does change its properties from paint used on metal.

Bumpers are more prone to burn damage because the plastic does not disperse heat like the metal panels do.

If you're using a rotary, work wetter then normal and be sure to load the edges of the pads as that is the part of the pad that will give you trouble.
