So I got an Arcadia here for a full correction and its in bad shape.... I'm not so worried about the paint as I know how to fix it. But the glass has the worse swirls I've ever seen and I don't know how to fix that.

And just for fun wish me luck this paint is hammered@!

I think Ill order some of that glass polish but is there an OTC anything? I just hit it with m105 rotary and red soft buff pad and didnt put a dent in it.... I'm gonna try uno and wool next... I'll keep ya posted but still more than open to ideals because I only have till thursday with car not enough time to order anything...

I've heard about an orange or yellow pad with something like m105 can help... 4 or 5 people had reported good results but one other guy had reported micromarring in the thread if I remember correctly.

Occasionally you can make some improvement using a compound or polish that was designed for use on paint. Glass is very hard therefore requires special products that can actually cut the glass to remove defects.

There are a host of products on the market and some may be available at a local store. Give a look in the link below and see if anything looks familiar! :bigups

Glass Care Products

Will those products work by hand? My parents CTS in pretty bad shape. Hoping maybe some good ole elbow grease and a decent product will at least save the glass a little. It's got little nicks all over it, who knew city driving was so damaging to a car's window...

You're going to need a lot of elbow grease then!

What kind of pad?

I've had luck with a LC orange pad, but you might want to try something with more cut like a yellow pad. I don't know how severe those water marks are or how deep they are, you may want to try compound, but a polish is usually good enough for me

you will find out in a hurry, just how hard glass really is. if you have to go with a heavier cut compound, you will still need to finish up with good glass polish(cerium oxide based). for the price, you can't go wrong with griot's glass polish and their fine glass polish. i use their glass polishing pads also.(6" & 3" three packs). try to avoid making optical distortions by keeping the pad moving as you bear down.(avoiding heat build up) a good sealant afterwards can also help fill in the deeper scratches. good luck !

Forget about paint compounds. You need a glass polish that has cerium oxide to remove fine scratches. If you can feel the scratch with your nail forget it, your not going to remove it. Like tropicsteve said, avoid heat build up as this may cause distortion to your glass. Polishing glass can be a very messy and time consuming job.

I just got sent some samples of a ton of sea shield stuff tailored for boats and just used them while I was down in florida doing some work and they gave me a glass polish that is amazing. It has a felt pad that goes on a DA and buff and it worked wonders on some beat up windows on some big ol' toys ill get some pictures up later.

On my car I used the new Pinnacle polish by hand, and had good results. Then in some spots I did bring out the DA with HT tangerine pads. It got 85%(more of a guess :)) of the water spots out.
