Someone who saw me on `Competition Ready` contacted the owner of this car. This customer reminded me a lot of myself, someone who is uncomfortable letting just anyone detail his car. So I felt a unique pressure to make the customer happy working on a car that a lot of people would say is in very good condition.

I started with my wash technique of foaming the car with the Kwazar foamer then with a rinseless mitt washing and rinsing the car with 2 buckets that had Blackfire Rinseless solution.

I had a 3rd bucket with rinseless solution dedicated to wheels tires undercarriage to touch up what I had missed.

I mostly played around with combinations of Menzerna Finishing Polish and Superfinishing Polish with the Rupes Polishing and Finishing pads.

Seeing the water bead like this before I applied any protection gave me a good feeling about the job I was doing perfecting the paint.

I only used the FG400 to address this one deep scratch. Due to the depth of the scratch I had a conversation with the customer to temper expectations. I did find reasonably healthy PTG readings. With the Porter Cable 3 inch backing plate I used the combination of FG400 with a orange LC pad (2 times). I then followed up with SF 3800 with a white pad. It is visible up close, but definitely not a eyesore! You have to look close up at a certain angle to see it. It turned out better than I expected without going critically deep into the clear.

Exhaust Tips (after)

Exterior painted areas were sealed with Wolfgang Liquid Seal and hours later topped with Wolfgang Estate Fuzion Wax. The windows, headlights, and door jambs were protected with Liquid Seal.

He was very complementary of my attention to detail.
