Polished Bliss: Toyota Land Cruiser + Zymol

This was a detail done last Thursday/Friday on a Toyota Land Cruiser :)

The car is one of a few that belongs to one of our local customers who is signed to a weekly maintainance plan, and this week along with the weekly wash and Field Glaze of his DB9 and SL55 AMG (both of which have been detailed previously by ourselves and are currently wearing Zymol Vintage as LSP) was the full detail on his Land Cruiser :thumb:

The car is the general "run around" vehicle used by most members of the family and i detailed the interior around 3 weeks ago so that part wasnt bad at all. The Exterior wasnt too bad either as i had washed it the week before:

The car itself had moderate swirling, nothing bad what so ever, and with the sun being so bright in the morning it was difficult to capture any of these defects so i didnt bother :)

So, onto the wash process - The car received APC in the arches/door shuts/tyres etc, then foamed with shampoo and then rinsed. I then foamed again and washed with the 2 bucket method.

The top half of the car wasnt too bad for contaminants so it only needed a mild claying, but the lower halfs were badly covered in tar, the pic below shows the tar and glue remover in action:

After this i then clayed the lower halfs where it was still slightly rough and then dried with a waffle weave towel.

PTG readings showed everything was fine on the condition of the paint so out came the Rotary with finishing polish and a polishing pad @1500rpm's, this worked perfectly untill my rotary fused for some reason :wall: and i didnt have any spares  . So out with the PC for the rest of the detail, luckily it was straight forward enough, i just had to step up to the compound but i forgot how uncomfortable the PC is compared to the Rotary!

As the car was too big to go in the garage i decided to call it a day after the paint was corrected as it was too late in the day to begin the Zymol process on such a big car. When i arrived on the Friday morning i just rinsed the dust off and dried again with the waffle weave.

While i was doing this, Rich did my usual weekly job of doing the Aston and the Mercedes (wash, dry & field glaze).

I then HD Cleansed all the glass and paintwork (whilst standing on the tyres to do the roof :D), and then got out the owners very own pot of wax....

This was applied to the paintwork and all exterior trim including window rubbers etc etc.

Once this was done i dressed the arches, tyres, sealed the wheels and quickly gave the interior a once over, before giving the car a final wipe down with Zymol Field Glaze :)

And here are the afters:

And here's a couple pics of the Aston and the Merc, still looking good and appear to have that "just waxed" look, something the Vintage seems to give over any other lower end wax i've ever tried :)

Thanks for looking :)

Vintage seems to have a very long life. I saw my one year old accumulation of it to have been in an "unusually" vibrant condition.....very good for wax without any signs of haze or fatigue. I almost did not want to remove it (of course I had a similar experience last year with concours when I switched to vintage) A little off topic but....

Again, very stunning results!

Man that Toyota looks beautiful!:xyxthumbs The headlights and wheel wells/wheels seem to really stand out in those afters. That last picture is  And of course the Aston looks sweet as well:D. Is that a clear bra line on that last picture of it?

under-carriage on the LR looks simply smashing!! That's what I call attention to detail :shocked Nice effort!

Cheers :)
