Polish Selection

I’m currently working on a repainted single stage paint that is about 8 years old that has heavy to moderate swirls. I’m using Cyclo with yellow Cyclo pads (tried orange but not aggresive enough) and IP but it is taking 3 to 5 applications and even using the yellow pad I’m not getting much hazing and micro marring. My question is I also have PB2.5 and all three SFX, are either one of those more abrasive than IP? I plan on finishing with FP and maybe PO85RD if needed.

Single stage paint? I find Meguiars 80 series to work the best, especially at removing any oxidation. DACP has worked very well for me on single stage paint.

Now that I have pulled my head out and realized that I was using FP instead of IP I went back to the orange pad and IP and it did a great job. One or two applications took care of the swirls and FP cleaned up maring. PO85RD is amazing stuff, just adds another level to the finish. We plan to finish polishing the front up tonight and apply LSP on Thursday. Thanks for the replies!!

did you use IP before PO85RD ?

I have some swirl marks on my wife's black Honda Pilot and I tried orange LC pad and PO85RD and after several passes between 4-5 on my PC it did not quite take them off. I also have SSR2.5 and IP and yellow pads. So I may have found my new task for this weekend. :)

After I pulled my head out of my *** I used IP then FP and followed up with PO85RD. A orange pad and Cyclo easly took care of the swirls I had. If you are working on a dark color a white pad and PO85RD brings it to a new level of depth. I do beleive the FP may not have been required but I could have gone from a orange or green pad and IP with a white pad and PO8rd.
