So I'm having a little trouble when machine polishing. The halogen lights tend to heat up my panels a lot so when I'm buffing the polishes will dry out pretty fast. My car is black so it doesn't really help the problem any. The polish then also becomes a pain to remove because it's all dried out. What should I do?

Try keeping your halogens a little further back from the section you are working on. After finishing the section, you should still be able to see the outcome with the halogens. Or, you can try to pick up a more portable light such as a 3M Sun Gun (very expensive) or Brinkmann dual LED light, or Infratech 3500 and just use it before, and then after doing each section for inspecting your work. What polishes are you using? Also, any other general comments about general temperature and environment would help to assist in ruling out other variables.

Also, if it's cooking, you're going to need to back the light off from the car, and/or get a sun gun.
Again, what climate are you working in? if it's steaming that's way hot, was the car in the sun before you started on the panel? I've worked on a hot panel, and I've seen a tiny bit when it's gotten way, way hot on the paint(outdoor on a dry, extremely hot day in the sun, don't do this by the way, it was an emergency thing) But that result from what I'm assuming is an indoor detail? Jeez.
