While Im in the typing mood and before I have given the wipe on wipe off method a try - what other sealants would y'all recommend (besides the Klasse).

I have a silver Lex GS ('02) so Im not going to get that "pop" but I would like a smooth, protected surface.

To make silver pop, I'd recommend the Klasse twins (AIOx2, SGx5) topped by S100 carnauba. I hope I wasn't too eeeviill! :D

Read the many posts on SG to hone in on application techniques that make it a painless product to use and still get you a brilliant finish. Follow the S100 directions on the container. Don't let it dry before you buff off.

It's unfortunate that you found out the hard way how not to use SG and S100.

For silver try VM (Vanilla Moose) and EX-P (2 coats). That is a very nice combo that can be topped with a wax of your choice if desired (Natty's, S100, etc.).

VM and EX-P are very easy to apply/remove also. Won't offer the longevity of SG, but will look very nice on silver.

You can't forget 1Z MP with 1Z GW. It looks good on my metallic gray.

I totally agree . . . 1Z really makes the metallic flakes pop. If you look at silver very closely under bright light, it has a very cool kaleidoscope effect.

As much as it mains me to say it, Zaino is good on silver. I used Zaino on my Alitma and topped it with EX-P, man what a great combo! IF you have a dark colored car I would us EX instead of EX-P, it has Carnauba in it, real nice wet look. One combo I used on my 2003 Mustang Cobra was VM, EX-P, EX, EX-P, CMW. I kind of think that I locked a layer of EX in between the EX-P. Here are some pics!!

I agree with some of the earlier posts, Zaino Z2 would be a good match for your silver GS.

Z2 provides insane levels of reflectivity; great on lighter colors like silver and it does a great job on bringing out the "flake" in metallic and pearl finishes. It is also one of the top performers when it comes to protection and durability.

I might go with a wetter looking LSP on a vehicle which had very "fluid" lines, but on your GS I think Zaino would look great IMHO.

Just my 2 cents ....

I see the ZAINO stuff getting good write-up on this board, my only question is where do you get the stuff?? I usually buy my products from the autopia page but I don't see the ZAINO products offered.

any links or pages would be appreciated.

SK, i mentioned earlier I didnt care much for the amount of work required to use SG for the results. BUT, I was told to use the WOWO method so I will before I give up the SG.

In the meanwhile I just wanted to get a list of other sealants in case i really get fed up with the SG and can be ready to place my order HAHA.

Thanks for the link.

Just be aware that AIO/SG is underwhelming to look at. When you have a few coats of SG (good to be in the 3-5 coat range), you would find out why it has stood the test of time. It is really wonderful to look at. AIOx2/SGx5  :up :up

If you already have Klasse, you probably won't see much of a difference with Zaino, since both have a very mirror like shine. Zaino should be a bit more durable though, so if that is what matters most, you will probably be happy with Zaino. EX-P has a more wet shine but the reflections aren't as intense, so if you want a different look, that may be the way to go. The 1Z MP/GW suggestion is also good, very wet look even on lighter colors. Both Poorboys and 1Z products are super easy to use but you will have to apply them more often than Klasse or Zaino.

Another vote for Zaino.

I used Zaino exclusively on my Silver 3rd generation RX-7 for 7 years. Incredible reflectivity that just made the paint "glow"!

I use Z5 and Z2 on my grey '02 Audi A4. It looks great. Much better than FMJ. And the slickness and shine is unbeatable.

Quite frankly, EVERY time I pull in to the parking lot at work, I look over my shoulder as I'm walking away from my Audi and think, "Damn, that's nice!" And when I get home I like using Z6 to bring up the shine and get rid of spots and bird poo-poo. I just LIKE it. It is very enjoyable to QD my Audi with Z6. Sometimes, I just like to run my fingers across the ultra slick surface. (Sounds sick, doesn't it?!?)

Each to his/her own, but I've turned into a Zaino fan-boy! :scared It is just GREAT!

Regards,

Dan.

My favorite combo for silver is now VM + EX-P. For a carnauba I prefer Signature. I've seen great pics of AIO + UPP but have not tried it personally.
