Plexus plastic window cleaner review

I bought a can of Plexus the other day and am amazed how much better it is to use than the Porsche window cleaner that you get with the car. It is miles ahead in ease of application and in the clarity it leaves. The Porsche cleaner stains hte fabric, is not easily applied, and leaves a powdery mess all over the top. Plexus just sprays on and wipes right off leaving no residue, just a very clean window. This is a must have in anyones arsenal of cleaning agents if you have a ragtop with plastic window.

Great stuff but it will eventually build up. You'll know because it will get smudgy as you try to wipe it clean. Took about 3 months on my window to get this far. Then I switched to distilled water and Plexus just once or twice a month.

The Porsche stuff is still great, though, just messy. The thing is, it a polish not a protectant. I use it a couple times a year.

BTW Plexus works wonders on CD's and DVD's!

Good to hear from you. This is a great forum for the stuff that's too obsessive even for PPBB :)

Actually there are plenty of obsessed people on PPBB, it's just the audience is a little too mixed for advanced detailing stuff. Here at Autopia, there's a kind loose real truth...for example, you might hear arguments between P21S and Pinnacle Souveran wax. Hearing that argument here means you can go out and buy either one and be incredibly happy because they are the very best on the market. No one is going to chime in about how great Turtle wax is--or, worse, ask why you even need wax on a clearcoat paint!

I like the ease of use with Plexus. A few of the Maxima's front end shots were taken after applying Plexus to the headlights and the taillights.

When I still had my Boxster I switched to Renovo for monthly polishing and used Plexus for weekly cleaning. I also invested in a nice fleece to put in the fold when the top was down. This went a long way to prevent scratching and the crease was less noticable.

BTW, it's nice to know PPBB is still going strong. I was one of the early supporters. Chuck is a great guy.
