I received this email tonight and thought I would post it here for "the masses to see". Please go ahead and do it, not for me but for those who need it.
Thanks!

C'mon sports fans...check this out. It's fast and easy and real. So no excuses for not getting soup donated. All of you have 1 minute to spare!

People in New York and DC are going to be having to hit food banks hard. There will be a need in NY for the soup. Here is an easy way to help... Campbell's is donating a can of soup to area food banks just by clicking on a football helmet at their website. Now, I know there are some pretty diehard football fans out there, so let's see which team gets the most support and help some hungry people, too! It's quick, easy, and can be done once a day. To date, Green Bay has the lead (GO PACK GO!). Here is a hyper link to directly connect you to their website. Just click on this web address http://www.chunky.com/click_for_cans.asp then click on your favorite team's helmet and Campbell has donated a can of soup. That's it! Please pass this to a friend or 2,3,4...
:up

You clicked the wrong helmet! ;) Shoulda been the Cowboys! But you can click them tomorrow. hehe j/k Thanks for doing it. I hope everybody does.

Let's hear how many people here do it. Let us know!

On an aside note: Where in upstate ny you live? I'm in your neck of the woods somewhere up here.

Thanks again

Great idea! Thanks for putting in on the forum. I'm a little north of Troy, N.Y. on the east side of the Hudson.

Good ol' N.Y. Brought my son home to his Mom on Monday, and ran into snow on Rte. 20. October 8th, and snow already! Got home and the truck was covered with salt! Boy, I hate winter! Enjoy!

I lived in Chenago county for the first 13 years of my life. Route 12!. Good to hear people still live in upstate NY.

Oh no snow here yet. Doubt there ever will be.

GO SAINTS! Hopefully the first Superbowl team to play at home!

58,514 cans from Cleveland :) that's a lot of computer nerds here from the "mistake on the lake" haha (they don't actually call it that, its one of the better upcoming cities!)

Go Browns!!! :D

Snake, my cousin drives a truck. Sometimes the truck contains stuff that could be used in a football game. Does that count?

I do know Doug Collins though (coach of the Wizards and more importantly, MJ.)

Of course, Doug would deny any knowledge of knowing me because the last time I talked to him I was about 12. I played basketball at his parent's house in Bloomington, IL with him and about 8 other kids.

YoSteve, I've been to the mistake by the lake and very much enjoyed the Flats and the Rock&Roll museum. Especially the Flats. How come it is always cold there when I am there? Why?

I also met Luke Longely (played for New Mexico and later Da Bulls) at a resturant in Albuq... (rhymes with turkey). I'm about 6'6" and usually the tallest one in the room. I was waiting to pay my tab and standing next to Luke's booth. He stood up and (if you are tall you know this) he gave me that "Sorry, pal!" look. He is 7'+. I said "What team?" He said "Luke Longely, New Mexico, mate!" in that awesome Aussie accent. I had no idea who he was until about 3 years later when I saw him playing in Chicago.

Done! Go 49er's! Where is all the love from Niner fans? We are lagging the other teams.... Looking good this year too! With all the "techies" in the Bay Area, you would think they would have a stronger showing. As for the Pack, gotta love Favre....

It's only fair to be a Rams fan if you were a Rams fan before their Superbowl year ;) I'm sure you were because you are from St. Louis. I was a Bears fan ever since I saw Gale Sayers play at Soldier Field with my dad (I was 9, I think.) I lived through much grief until 1985. My wife cryed when Walter Payton retired, and again when he died. I would loved to see the 99 Rams play the 85 Bears - awesome offense against an awesome defense. I don't care what they say about the Raven's defense last year - the 85 Bears would have kicked their a$$.

I like the Rams. Kurt Warner is great. Looks like they are on a real roll this year. Went to a game the year before their big year (they were 4-12 that year), against KC. Sat in a sky box. Very nice stadium for an indoor stadium. Love the whole Landing area!

By the way, Grant Winstrom is from Webb City (about 8 miles from where I live.) The local paper always edits the AP story to say "Grant Winstrom - Webb City" instead of "Grant Winstrom - Nebraska." For those who don't know who Grant is - he ran a fumble back for a touchdown in last Mondays game against the Lions only to have it called back because some Rams players ran onto the field before the play was over in celebration. Also, Grant was the only defensive starter to remain after Lovie Smith revamped the defense this year.

A friend in LA opines that "Nobody can be a fan of the Rams unless they know who Roman Gabriel is!"

Not only have I been a Rams fan since they came to St. Louis, I was a football Cardinals season ticket holder for 10 years prior to their departure. THOSE were sad days!:p

Chiefs in third place behind the Steelers and Green Bay.... not bad. Maybe it will inspire them to play better, eh?

:D

THanks for posting this.... great idea!

I was born in KC, and lived in Liberty, MO until I was about five. I have vague memories of going to watch their practice camp one summer at a college in Liberty before we moved (I couldn't have been more than four years old) . . . anyway, I got to meet Len Dawson, and got Ed Podolack's autograph. None of the memories are clear, as I was too young, but it was one of those "perfect" father-son days that you only seem to get when you're too young to truly appreciate them.

Hey TortoiseAWD

That's great to hear. :) I've been a Chiefs fan since I moved here in 1997, from Arizona. Never really got into the Cardinals in Phoenix and having the Chiefs here gives my dad and I a chance to bond a bit too... though my dad's more of a 49'ers fan (grew up in Northern Cali)

hey cybercowboy,

the tim couch being my cousin thing is sorta' a joke around here with my wife, who just so happened to be sitting by me when i responded to this thread. i've never met him and i'm sure he doesn't have a clue who i am but he is related to me. while in high school and at uk couch was pretty much a football god here so i have always been quick to say "hey, he's my cousin you know". Drives my wife crazy.

the last time i was in cleveland they were celebrating the anniversary of the lake catching on fire, now a lake catching on fire is not something that just any city can boast, hehehe. i had a great time there and would love to go back and check out the r&r hall of fame.

i don't know any famous atheletes, and hey, 6'6", you're way to tall for a vette, now i know why you got a vert :D

The vette has a memory mode where the seat and telescoping steering wheel will move to the extreme position as you exit the car. Easy-out mode or something. When I get out nothing moves. When my wife gets out it kinda reminds me of a transformer cartoon I saw at my nephew's. My head rubs the top when it is up. But I just...don't...care! I have the big Ford for long-hauls.

BWT, I'm more like 6'-5" now days. I've shrunk.
