It has been a while since I have been on here but I figured it was time to ask some experts because I can't seem to get this to work. I have a brand new Harley and I was trying to get the surface scratches out that the dealer put on it while prepping. This is my process,

1. Washed with Gold Class and sheepskin mitt.
2. Used white edge pad and Megs #3 with DA
3. Made it worse
4. Then used #9 with white edge pad still no good
5. Finally before I gave up I tried #2 and white pad and no dice.
Does anybody have any idea where I need to start with this thing because I have done my car with these products and had fine luck with it. This paint scratches when you look at it. so any input would be great. By the way I have mainly megs supplies and the edge pads and the usual products. Heres a pic.

Can you give me an idea of what SWR that you have...the ones the you have listed should have done what you are trying to accomplish...I'm wonder if a hand application would better since its such a small area that you are working on

For Meguiars I have #2,3,4, and 9. I also have Pinnacle advance swirl remover and the paint cleansing lotion. Also I initially tried ScratchX by hand but no luck just seem to make the paint milky looking. I am willing to try new stuff if I need for this bike just been out of this for a while and don't know what is new.

Scratch X is a heavy duty swirl remover and that is causing the milky / hazing that you are seeing...A light polish would remove that...I think you should start with the cleansing lotion...that sounds like a paint cleaner...then use the lightest polish of what you have...I'm not the good with the Megs line but the lightest polish would be my choice...doing this by hand use some elbow grease to work the product, but not pressure...heat!! is what causes the reaction to the product not pressure...Also you are not going to get the paint prefect but this should bring back the luster...to cover up some of the remaining swirls...I would use a glaze like PB black hole..then top off with some good paste wax or a sealant!
