Please help me clean up my '90 GTI :)

Hello, I just bought a almost running MK2 GTI for a very good deal. I know it's hard to assess based on pictures but I would like some guidance on how to approach this thing, it's quite an undertaking. It has been sitting for 4 months and the previous owner was very very messy!!!!

P.S. Trash has already been removed, windows are open to relieve the smell

plan to vacuum, clean carpeting tomorrow. I'll update then :)
 
I look forward to the end result!! For the interior, give everything a good wipedown with apc, and hit the carpets with an oxy mix, 1 scoop/gallon, hot water.

***!? did he store his car with the windows open?? It looks like ol'dirty dog also liked to have a few beers while he cruised around.



Honestly.... that is going to clean up real well!



I'd follow GregCavi's advice for the interior. Dont get discouraged you might have to hit the interior once-twice maybe three times to get it real clean. In a dirty vehicle like that dirt will resurface when it dries.



for the outside it will be EASY!! The vehicle is white and it seems as if it has no rust so I suggest:



-Wash

-Clay vehicle

-Polish with Zaino Fusion twice

-3 coats of Z2p with ZFX



use 303 for all trim and you will be grooving.......

Thanks guys, yea, he said it's been sitting for about 4 months, obviously used as a trash can and windows were open for a couple of winter days. :(
 
Yea it's an 8v :) hehe



The stains are what leaves left behind, yum!



Finally got the car in the garage so tomorrow I have a few hours to go at it :)
