Please Don't Do This!

Do not make a great big sign with your prices on it.

The only people that like to see this info. is your competition, like me.

This guy saved me a phone call in which I would pretend to be a customer and proceed to find out what he offered and how much he charged.

If you post your prices you're also giving customers the chance to decide NOT to use you, before you can even talk to them and explain what you do and why you charge what you charge.

its just not good marketing. :D

And those prices are hard to follow, people dont know what they are getting entirely. They don't understand if those things are added on to each other, or if they a packages, or if they are whatever. Thats just plain stupid, in my humble opinion of course :D

I wish I could charge $30 for wash, windows and int wipedown. What a rip-off!
Second - I don't like that this guy uses part of my company name in his name.
Thrid - Learn to spell chamois.... shamie!!! woo hoo!!!

You're a cool guy Biff, good post.

I can send you a PM with this guys contact info. if you like (if I can find it; he doesn't even have a listing in the phone book).

I don't think he's much of a threat to you but he isn't doing the name justice either.

Those prices are in Canadian dollars too, that's why they look a little high.

I've got a couple more competitors signs that I'll post tonight when I get home. (one looks like a Chinese food menu; its impossible to figure out).

There's nothing wrong with advertising prices...if you're a volume car cleaning place...these people are not detailers....the general public, which consists of 99% of the people not associated with a detailing site like this, could care less if the car was clayed or powerwashed..these are the same people who line up at drive thru car washes....they are no threat to "Detailers" ....
Places like this will only make your biz grow after they screw up:cool:

There's a hand wash by where I work that has the big Ford SUV listed as an ExpeRdition lol

Rob, I charge $30 for a wash if it is a regular client. New clients get charged what ever it takes to get their vehicle clean.

We live in the car capital of the world. If your not getting at least $25 for a car wash your not pulling in what you can for being in So Cal.

Just for fun I will sometimes hang out at a local express car wash place and talk to the people who get their car detailed there. I point out the things that should be getting done on their car and is not. I then watch them argue with the manager over the outcome of their car and the price that they paid. Afterwards I hand them a business card and tell them they will never have to go through that again. I know that it is mean, and sneaky, but some of these places piss me off with the bad service and high prices. Every now and then I have to let people know they can get much better service for less or the same amount of money.

Man that is sneaky and mean...hanging out at the competition and then taking their biz....cool:D

Hey Boss i totally missed that..the $10 wash and shamie(lol)would be something like $6.50 here:eek:

If those are Canadian prices, then it's even worse.

Yes, those prices are in Canadian dollars too, that's why they look a little high.

Multiply by about 0.73 to get the US dollar value.

$7.30 for a hand wash is rediculous...too much time too little return....they can't spend more than 10 minutes on a car:rolleyes:
