Please- A quick How-to on RMG & PB's EX

Guys,

I'll be polishing my car tomorrow and I just recieved my RMG and PB's EX.

Can anyone please give me a quick "How-To" on how to apply RMG with a rotary.

For RMG I have the Black LC VC finessing pad.

I don't have an extra finishing pad for the the PB's EX, so can I get a quick "How-to" on hand application of PB's EX, please.

Basically these are my questions,

1) What speed should I run the RMG via Rotary?

2) How much RMG do i put on the pad *each time*? Liberally or sparingly?

3) How long after the RMG is applied do I let it sit before buffing off?

----------------------------------------------~~~~~~~~--------------------------------

1) Is this foam pad in the picture below good to apply PB's Ex?

2) How long after the PB's Ex is applied do I let it sit before buffing off?

Thank you so much fellow autopians :wavey :p

RMG with a rotary? Can I ask why? And you would consider a rotary for EX too?

For the EX, just a thin layer is needed and let it sit for at least 1 hour before wiping off.

I use RMG via rotary all the time, its no problem to use it. I use a blue finishing (its a propel, the LC equivalent would be black) @650RPM. I make a full set of passes left to right, then do it again going top to bottom. That ensures complete coverage. I don't use much, first I mist the pad twice with QD from about 8 inches away, then add a few drops of RMG per panel. Wait 10 for it to haze a little, then wipe off.

As for EX, its about the easiest LSP out there. Just put a little bit on a foam app (nickel size per panel), and then apply it just like any wax. Let haze for 10, wipe off. Enjoy, RMG + EX is a great combo, I use it regularly.

Themightytimmah,

Thanx a million. You've been a really great help to me this whole time. :bestwish:

That was just the "how-to" i needed. Thanx again.

I hope my car car turns out as well as many others here. I'll be sure to post the before and afters. :spot :lock: :spot

I'd apply RMG at around 800-1000 rpms with a finishing pad and work it until it practically disappears into the paint...which with a rotary shouldn't take much time at all. Less is more once the pad is primed. EX by hand to the whole vehicle, grab a drink, remove.

exactly what I do. about 1000 RPM's blue LC pad and it literally disappears and on black leaves kinda like gasoline sitting on top of water look when worked in ...best way I can describe it.

Guess what guys,

The reason I asked for using RMG with a *rotary* (instead of a PC) was since that's all I had.

However, my friend lives a couple blocks away from me and I turned him into an Autopian detail addict too. :spot He bought a PC and lets me use it. But the thing was that he has the 6.5 in' pads while I had the Rotary 7.5" pads.

I just put my 7.5 in. finishing pad on the PC 6" velcro backing plate and it worked perfectly fine. You just gotta keep the pad against the paint.

Now that i have a PC to use, I heard that RMG is much more effective via PC.

So can I please get a short "How-To) for RMG via PC?

I just need to know what speed on the dial i should use and how long to let it sit before buffing off. Muchos Muchos Thanx !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bestwish: :buffing: :wavey
