Platinum gone, Meguiars back on - how's it look?

Well, after detailing my Taurus during Autopia's server change, I tried out Platinum, with the results posted here:Taurus with Platinum .

Since I wasn't pleased with Platinum’s durability (let's not start that conversation again, just making a comment - lol ), I decided to go back to my stock of Meguiar’s. I dawn washed it to remove the last traces of Platinum, and since I had already went over it with a swirl remover a few weeks ago, I gave it a coat of No. 20, followed by a coat of Medallion. Two days later, just because I felt like it, I went over it with No 26 (paste wax), all applied with my PC.

What do you think: Passenger Side:

This will do until my Zaino order comes in, I think.

Looks good Len! I also like the shine on your tires and rims.

Let us know how it goes with Zaino when you get it.

BTW, nice neighborhood. :)

Believe it or not, the tires haven't been done in a week. Endurance low gloss. And I used No. 20 on the wheels.

Zaino just showed up. Can't wait to try it.

Thanks about the neighborhood. We love this place.

Len, how and when do you exactly use the #7 and the #20. I know they can't be used on top of each other, but i still want to know the different situations in which they are used.

You can use the No 26 on top of the No. 7, and according to Meguiar's you can use Medallion on top of No. 7.

I didn't use No. 7 this time.

Great job. Looks gooooooood.

Thanks!! Most of my neighbors (as well as my relatives) think I'm nuts, but man, is it worth it. At least I'm not the only one in my sub that details their cars, but I am definitely the most extreme. And I love it!!

I can't wait to try Zaino on it. As soon as the weather breaks and I get a spare afternoon.

Very nice Len :up. BTW...my wife's '96 Taurus is also Pacific Green :D although her passenger side rear door has two big shopping cart dings plus a nice deep scratch also from a shopping cart. At least it's all on one door so I can just have that door re-finished.

Again, looking good!

Thanks!! Pacific Green was one of the best versions of green that Ford had. Sorry to hear about the dings. I have a bunch of small dings on the car, and some scratches on the very lower part of the front and rear bumper. I may fix them in the future, but then I may also get another car, so I'm not sure yet.

I got my Zaino order in, so I will be stripping this thing of all wax and trying Zaino in the near future. I'm hopelessly addicted!:D
