Plastic/Tire Cleaner and Protectant Review Between 3 Products

I decided to do some test spots on my trim to see which products would clean, restore, and protect the best on my wax stained trim. It is always a little difficult to clean and then protect the trim, so I did a 3 different test spots with 3 different products to see which one would, clean, restore, and protect the best.

The new Blackfire All-In-One Trim & Tire Protectant:

1Z Einszett Vinyl-Rubber Care and Protectant:

First was the Mothers Trim Cleaner, it cleaned very well and also left the trim a little darker than it was as well:

Next was the new The new Blackfire All-In-One Trim & Tire Protectant took a little longer to clean. It came out a blue liquid, and made the trim darker than the Mothers:

Last was the 1Z Einszett Vinyl-Rubber Care and Protectant, this product took the longest to clean the white residue off the trim, but was very similar to the darkness of the Blackfire:

Now I'll have to wait on the longevity to see how long these products last, so far I like the BLACKFIRE All-In-One Trim & Tire Protectant the most, since it cleaned and restored the best out of the three.

I also used the BLACKFIRE and the 1Z Einszett on my tires as well:

I could see a lot more gloss and no more browning from where I applied the BLACKFIRE, it also did a better job of cleaning as well. The 1Z Einszett gave the tire a little gloss, but I could still see some browning on the tire. I'll wait around a couple weeks and post some pictures of how the products hold up and last.

Products used:
Mothers Back to Black Heavy Duty Trim Cleaner
Blackfire All-In-One Trim & Tire Protectant
1Z Einszett Vinyl-Rubber Care and Protectant

Man, your trunk trim is haggard! All 3 products made a huge difference! Looking forward to the updates/ which one last the best for you Jesse.

My experience with certain OTC "trim restores" have been let downs. They don't last/ wash off after a rain or two.

Now hurry up and paint those brake calipers already! ;)

Cant wait to see the updates, Black fire was already on my short list. Love the trim and tire sealant for hard plastics and vinyl tonneau cover.

Now what about applying a product like CarPro Perl over the Mothers? Is that redundant? I ask because I've used the Mothers but there is no claim to longevity

The Mothers product is just a cleaner, if you use the CarPro Perl over it you should get around 3 months of protection. That would actually be a really good combo. I'll have to try that next time. :bigups

I haven't used the CarPro Perl but I used the Mothers and then applied Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant. Came out way better than just the Wolfgang (tried a little test spot). Still looks pretty good and seems to be beading pretty well still and I put it on a month and a half or so ago and we've had some heavy rain.

Cool.......

I've got an older jeep to do soon. Jeeps have crazy plastic. This stuff is KILLED.

Suggest any of these?

The Mother's cleaner did the best job of cleaning, the BLACKFIRE is the best "All-In-One" I would say. I just have to wait to see which one will last the longest. If it were my jeep I would use the Mother's Cleaner with BLACKFIRE Total Trim and tire sealant.

Thank you

Mothers is a good cleaner as stated and does well followed by a dedicated trim protectant. The Blackfire AIO is no joke. It's great stuff. About 2 weeks on tires is about right. But the simplicity of using it is where it really shines and it cleans very well. I like it.

Looking forward to your findings.

Kind of an odd test, as one product is just a cleaner - the other 2 are AIOs. While the AIOs may initially look better - are they really getting the trim "clean".?

The Mothers product is very good.

Tuff Shine Tire Cleaner is very good to clean any plastic or rubber.

I just picked up CarPro CQuartz DLux Plastic for my Jeep's plastics in hopes of skipping the weekly dressing application (still waiting for it to arrive, had to try a coating one way or another).

I've been using Chemical Guys Liquid Extreme Shine oil-based sprayable dressing and despite all the negative comments about oil-based dressings it's worked great for me (no sling, no rot, no browning of tires) but it doesn't last long on the tires or rear step (1 week at best). It works very well for the mirrors and roof rails and lasts longer (1-2 months). The price was right and I was still learning, so I made the mistake of ordering a gallon (takes forever to use).

If I don't like the CQ for plastic, I'll pick up some PERL.

I'd like to see what you end up using and how long it holds up.
