plastic lens polish...

I polished the wind deflector on my old MGB today, and removed 40 years of scratches and swirls etc :D, using 4000 grit and Menz 3.02.

I noticed there are various plastic lens polishes, like the DG version, and wondered what, if anything, they offer over a typical abrasive?

many thanks

Dotn have an answer to your question but do you have any before and after pics? Also im going to assume you did everything by hand? Was it the stock deflector?

Loss of your money? ;)

If the current combo works to end up with very good results I can't see why you should change it.

I am not saying the plastic polishes are bad, but it might not be that different product afterall.

stock webasto deflector - sanded by hand with Abralon disks on a hand pad, but polished by rotary - Menz 3.02 on a 3.5" coolfoam light cut pad, at 900-1150 rpm :thumb:

pics to follow...

I rather use a mild polish like Meg's #82 than those lenes polishes which have more aggressive abrasives and becomes another bottle on my shelf.
