Ok, were buying our first home, and it has no garage:( its a very nice home though, anyways as sad as i am about this, life will go on lol, next home will most def have one, so i want to get a plastic one simualr to the ones at home depot, ill spend the money on a good quality one no problem, anyone know where i can get a decent one, and what the $, i live near Ottawa Canada, and will check our Home Depot, ive seen lots! of them in peoples driveways, mostly the cheap everyday white ones, but the other day i saw what looked to me like a dark silver one in color, looked very sturdy, just dont know where to look for it? search around on web sites, but nothing so far, and oh ya i plan on leaving it up all yr around

If it were me I would bite the bullet and go knock on the door of house with the Silver type one you liked the look of.

Most probably the owner would be flattered you liked their taste and would be very helpful.

No garage! I'd take the house back! Just kidding. I'm with Mr Concours, ask the owners of the nice one you like.

I'm kinda in the same situation, but I rent. My next home will definitely have a garage, or I'll build one. Washing my car in the rain is getting old ;)

:D Ya ill look around at home depot, and search around, but odds are ill end up just asking him where he bought his, ya im still sad about not getting a garage:( but will make the best of it, and make my (plastic) garage lol, a good one, just glad to have more room for my products:xyxthumbs, ill also consider maybe building one??

Okay, I got home and grabbed my Northern Tool & Equipment Co Catalog (www.northerntool.com).

On pages 132-139, for $299.99 was a single car/small boat garage. They also have a double car garage for $899.99.

I hope helps,

David

Anything would be better than being open to the elements and having to detail in the blazing sun. Thanks for the link, dternst!

Yep trying to detail in the blazing sun, just doesnt cut it, i normally have to wait for sunset approx, if i had to detail during sun, i was constantly rinsing down

I'm looking at something like this

1car_vettspecial.jpg

I found it at www.shelterking.com

that looks like a good one, found out some BAD news last week:( turns out there is a by-law with these tarps, you cant keep em up all yr!! must take down by April 15th, and can put back up after Oct 15th, this was not good news to me at all, guess the city doesnt want these tarps up all yr around, may look bad:nixweiss only res areas, which is where i live, had i bought outside of city, there would be no problems, so not much i can do about it?, prob will still get one for winter, and durning summer, may just use a couple of poles and buy a camping tarp sort of thing, and design something i can put up and take down just on the days i detail

Here is the one I have .. this is the third spring .. its up all year .. I have done a little X bracing and securing and the rollup door I added today .. We had a bylaw like that here too but they couldn't enforce it so they dropped it.
