Plastic and Metal protecting

hey all, two questions



First is what can I do to protect what I think is stainless steel? This is on a bike (as in bicycle) that's kept outside 24/7. I doubt it's chrome, and is one of those you get at Toys R Us or Costco, so I bet it's stainless steel.



Second, what can you do to seal up plastic headlights? I use plastx on it periodically, but the just new look doesn't last long. I know there are plastic sealants, but I rather use something that I can use for other things as well. Would DG be good?

Maybe something like Zoop Seal (you'll have to search on it, sorry). Or else layered sealant (I'd use KSG).

I'd probably try the layered KSG for that too, and the DG might be about the same :nixweiss

Your rims probably aren't stainless steel (never heard of that before), aluminum alloy is more likely. If you have caliper brakes there's really no way to "protect" the rim without affecting stopping power. Use Simichrome to clean them up periodically.

I use Optiseal on headlights. Add a quick cleaning with Plexus after every wash and you should be good to go.
