Pinnacle Souveran on Gold (Minivan)

Got out this morning at 8:30 AM, temperature 38F with brisk winds to try out my new Pinnacle Souveran. No before pictures as the van had a 5 month old coat of Zaino Z2 Pro which still looked beautiful. Steps were:

Washed with ONR (Optimum No Rinse) and dried with my new large Cobra Guzzler (love it).

Clayed the roof, hood and front bumper with Optimum Polyclay (still have some). Got very little contamination and decided not to clay the rest of the van.

Started on the roof with Cyclo and white LC CSS pads using Blackfire SRC Finishing Polish. It was terrible with the pads really grabby. Kept reducing the amount of polish but could never get the combo to really work.

Switched to the green Propel 2 pads and Blackfire SRC and it was terrific. Did the entire van with one set of pads, brushing the pads between panels. I really enjoyed using the Cyclo with this combination. Still had some micro marring, but I will address this another day, too cold for a two step polish. Plus you really can't see it with the gold metal flake and you can't capture it with my camera.

Applied Clearcote's Red Moose Machine Glaze (RMG) with the PC set at 5 using a blue Propel 2 pad. As usual went on terrific, melted into the paint and increased the depth and gloss.

Finally applied the Pinnacle Souveran. What a pleasure! Went on and off easily and used almost none of the wax doing an entire minivan. A good finish to what was a fun day.

Trim done with Poorboy's Trim Restore, tires with Poorboy's B and B, windows with Stoners Invisible Glass.

Afters: Cloudy day, dark pictures. Finished at 2 PM sharp!

Enjoy the Super Bowl! :woohoo:

Looks great, but Souveran on a minivan? Wow.

LOL. Got it with tax refund money. My wife saw it and said she wanted it on her van. You don't stay married 29 years saying no. :grinno: Nice break from all those Ferraris, Vipers, Maseratis, etc.

The van looks great. My wife has a pearl white Quest and it also has Souveran on it. Those grills are annoying as heck to clean, and I noticed that they changed them for 07. They also moved the guages over in front of the driver because so many people complained about the center placement. Nice job, did you do the interior also?

Pogo,

Sorry about the late reply, just regained internet service after almost 24 hour outage (thanks, Suddenlink). I did NOT do the interior also. The interior was in good shape already and I was pooped. I'm happy to hear that you too have put Souveran on a minivan. Considering how little you use, I don't think it is all that expensive. What city are you in?

Thanks to everyone for compliments. Not much of a Click and Brag, but thought somebody with a gold paint job might be curious about Souveran on gold. Enjoy the Superbowl.

I just got our family can back from the bodyshop. A poor dog took out the front bumper. I will be using a full Souveran polish and protect package on it when the paint cures out in about a week.

Your can looks very good. Deep and wet.

Thanks Justin,

I really enjoy your work, particularly the Souveran on the green Jag. Post your van pictures when you are done, I'm sure they will be great.

Thanks bro for the compliments!!!

You know there will be a full write up on it!

Thanks Brandon,

The NC blood got thickened a little during the 4 years I was stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas. As long as the nostril hairs don't freeze, it isn't too bad. LOL
