Picture posting

COME AT ME BRO
Just curious as to what everyone is using to post/host pictures they put in their DC threads. I have been using Photobucket, but it seems to resize all the pictures so small (I think anything over 1MB gets resized) as to eliminate details from the photos. Ideally, I would like to put thumbs in my posts, giving folks the option to click on it to see the high-resolution photo. Just wanted to see what people are using. Suggestions welcomed.

I pretty much use photobucket as well. I also hate that it reduces the pictures so small. I think if you pay the upgrade you can then load larger sized photos. I also have a couple truck and car sites i belong to that allow galleries so some of the pictures i post come from those places.

Here is and example. I will post PB first then the same picture from one of my other forum sites.

Richard, that's exactly what I am talking about. I hate how Photobucket makes the phot so small. I guess I'll keep taking suggestions.

FWIW, ROKABLOK, the link is not working.

I have tried doing this several times, and can't get it to work - maybe I am doing it wrong....

Can we host photos in our DC gallery and them set them up in a post?

You need to resize them to under 1mb before uploading them to photobucket with something like PS Elements.

I usually resize them to 700 or 800 width, easier to view on line, but here is a shot resized to 1200x800 (~800k) with no jpg compression uploaded to PB:

How? :) (You knew that was coming, right???)

Once you have them in your gallery you have to view them full size and not the thumbnail size. Right click on it and go to the properties portion of the box. Once you see the location you select the location and copy. You can then paste this into your post. I'm not sure why you just can't select the picture and copy but it doesn't work. Right clicking and copying the location in the properties box is the only way I know how.
